The bones of a wyvern could make anyone envious with greed, as it could make even a beggar into one of the richest overnight (AN: Logan's arrows are made of wyvern bones), not to mention how much its mana core and other scales, blood and organs would fetch at the alchemical guild.
"Finally! I thought it would never go down now, that thing fought like a dragon", Mark exclaimed.
"Hmph", smirked Logan, "Not even close, a dragon is in an entirely different league."
"How the hell would you know?", Mark retorted, "you're just a D-rank."
"Don't speak to him like that!", Zoe snapped, "he just took down a wyvern with one shot, and helped us preserve its carcass which generated our party a huge profit."
"While rank determines the strength you control ", explained Nathan while further exploring the cave, "an archer, much like an assassin values stamina, mana control, items and techniques more than raw strength and mana capacity, which in simpler terms means even a D-rank archer with proper preparation could take down a C-Rank".
"I…I didn't mean it that way!", stammered Mark, "I know how rare and valued archers are, I just wondered how he knew about the strength of dragons."
"It's okay I took no offence, and yes your doubt is reasonable.", stated Logan" you see while both countries the Dragon country and the Empire are at peace now and have a relationship it wasn't always the case."
"Yes, I learnt that centuries ago lone dragons viewed human as ants and used to attacked us unprovoked to display their ""racial superiority"" to us", explained Leah.
"Yep, our ancestors had to adapt quickly and developed mana tools and techniques to combat them and what happened next was the beginning of Great Scale war."
"Of course, I know about that!", huffed Mark, "everyone knows about the war in which hundreds of humans died trying to fell a single dragon."
"And yet that war ended in a stale mate because even though hundreds of humans perished, every dragon that fell led to the creation of weapons which could slay and cripple dozens more, this forced the dragons to acknowledge our strength and sign the peace treaty.
"Even though almost all of those weapons are now in the Imperial treasury, as a noble my family has inherited a couple of those weapons for our meritorious deeds we accomplished in the war, and trust me just looking at them the aura they exclude is more terrifying than these wyverns.", boasted Logan.
"How strong are those dragon slaying weapon?", wondered Mark
Meanwhile Nathan, Zoe and Leah searched inside the cave for the wyvern's nest, as greedy creatures' wyverns tend to store anything they link close to themselves.
"Guys, look what I found here!", trumpeted Leah.
As the others made their way to Leah, they discovered the wyverns nest surround by the bodies of dead beasts and inside the nest lay a single large deep-indigo egg.
"Now what should we to do with this?"
