Warner's POV
Ever since Arlene learned that Linton is her sister, she's been pulling away from me. The past few days, she's barely spoken, and I have no idea how to bridge this growing chasm between us.
All the preparations are complete for the official coronation ceremony where she'll be introduced as royal rogue family. I've been looking through her jewelry collection to understand her taste, so the designers can create something beautiful for the occasion. The original rogue family heirlooms no longer exist. They were all lost in the fires during the slaughter. I prefer giving her new pieces anyway. The old ones would carry the stain of what I did to her bloodline.
"Hey." Her voice pulls me from my brooding thoughts.
I glance up to find Arlene standing in my doorway, dressed in a fitted navy dress that shows every curve of her body.
"Come in," I tell her, drinking in the sight of her. My hopes crash when she slides into a black jacket that hides her figure completely.
