Arlene's POV
"I'm-" Warner starts.
"I know. I know," I cut him off before he can finish. A low chuckle rumbles from his chest.
"I like what you have on," he moves closer, positioning himself directly behind me.
His palms settle on my waist where the bright pink belt cinches my striped black and white jeans. His thumbs trace the strip of exposed skin between my waistband and the bottom edge of my cropped shirt. When his nose brushes against my nape, my entire body responds with an intensity that catches me off guard. This reaction has been getting stronger lately.
"What's this running down your back?" he asks, his fingertips trailing along my spine with feather-light touches.
"Planetary alignment," I breathe out softly.
I grab a random shirt from the rack and thrust it toward him without looking. The fabric displays Sally's image across the front.
