Warner's POV
I knew that killing my father would be the ideal solution if the man dared to challenge the Alpha King. Knowles might be an entitled piece of work, but he remained just a kid. A young man who had been guided by the very person Bernard had just eliminated, and despite enduring his share of traumatic experiences, he was still coddled and completely unprepared for the savage brutality that my father wielded like a weapon.
The way my father stared back at Arlene struck me as entirely different from anything I had witnessed before. Never had I seen the man so conflicted between seizing what he desired and choosing the moral path. I doubted such internal struggle had ever occurred in his mind previously. I understood they had grown close, and if I eliminated my father now, it would devastate all of them.
