Arlene's POV
The car has been moving for nearly an hour through parts of the city I've never seen before. This area screams danger - nothing but industrial wasteland and crumbling buildings that look like they should have been demolished years ago.
Some of these structures might actually be condemned.
"Arlene?" Mr. Warner's voice cuts through my assessment when we finally stop.
"Yeah?"
"Would it bother you if I asked you to stay behind me? I need to see exactly what we're walking into," he says, his throat clearing with nervous energy.
"If we don't start swinging the second we step out, we'll be completely outnumbered by more wolves. Once they drag us inside, how the hell are we supposed to escape? I'm ready to bite anyone who lays a finger on me. That strategy works perfectly for my son."
