Warner's POV
Saying I'm losing my mind would be putting it mildly. The marking wasn't intentional. My wolf has been completely beyond my control, and the second Arlene's cutting words hit their mark, that bastard seized the opening and bulldozed right over me. When I finally managed to rein him in, she was already staring back at me with genuine terror flickering in those stunning blue eyes. I never imagined he'd gotten this close to going completely wild. Hell, he might as well be feral after all the damage I've inflicted on us both.
"You actually marked her?" Jamiya Jenkins questions while methodically cleaning Linton's rifle. Linton's busy working her magic on the computer setup.
"Not deliberately," I exhale heavily. "This is exactly why I need your expertise."
"Your wolf's significantly more unhinged than before," Linton observes, approaching me. She's brought backup. Lambert.
"Hello, Warner," she greets me professionally.
