Welcome to Machara Primary School — proudly hidden in the deep green folds of Kisii village, where morning dew shines brighter than any city streetlight. The classrooms are made of cracked walls, dusty floors, and windows that whistle when the wind passes. The school bell? Just a metal rim beaten like a drum of destiny.
For those raised in towns, you might want to sit down — because this isn't your "international academy." There's no Wi-Fi, no air conditioning, and certainly no cafeteria menu. The only luxury here is surviving without punishment and eating your githeri in peace.
Our story begins with "Town Boy," the celebrity of the village — the only pupil with worn-out Nairobi shoes. His confidence could convince you that he personally advised the president. One day, he narrated how a single jug of OMO poured on a tarmac road caused vehicles to skid for hours until the government called in "road moppers." We believed every word, laughing until we cried.
And that's Machara for you — where laughter is free, lies are legend, and dust is part of the uniform.
