Rock had to admit—he was kind of falling in love with going to class.
Looking at the glowing Levitation Charm displayed on his panel, he could barely hold himself back from shouting.
A spell with 100% completion actually came with a bonus effect.
On the panel, next to the Levitation Charm, a separate line clearly showed the benefits of reaching full completion:
[Levitation Charm Lv.2 (370/599)]
[Completion: 100% (Using this charm grants +20% power and reduces mana cost by 20%)]
It didn't look like much at first glance, but this was only a Level 2 Levitation Charm. Once it ranked up further, the benefits wouldn't just be a simple one-plus-one scenario.
Just the current bonus alone gave him a whole new level of power. For grinding skills in the future, this was definitely good news.
Pulling himself back from his thoughts, Rock looked at the other young wizards practicing and started thinking about how he should spend his remaining time.
Someone nudged his arm. When he turned, Adam was looking at him with a shy expression.
"Hey… Rock, do you think you could teach me?"
"Me too!" Theo squeezed in on Rock's other side, looking like he'd stop being his friend forever if he wasn't included.
Rock thought for a moment, then nodded. If working with Hermione helped him improve, then it should work the same with others.
Even if the only thing he did was help them correct mistakes.
"No problem."
"Sir Rock, I vow to serve you as my lord!" Theo said, giving an exaggerated medieval bow from his chair.
"Alright, alright. Just don't complain when I accidentally wake you up in the mornings."
Rock waved him off. Now that he realized training could improve his physical endurance, he'd have to start waking up early every day to work out.
"No way. I'll probably start handing you your shoes in the morning," Theo shot back immediately.
"Okay, pick up your wands—let me take a look."
Rock pulled his arm free from Theo's grip.
"Yes sir!"
Theo grabbed his wand right away. Adam had already been ready since the start.
"You go first, Adam," Rock said, signaling for him to begin.
Adam took a deep breath, raised his wand, and said, "Wingardium Leviosa."
Under the gaze of the three boys, the feather on the table didn't move at all.
"Your pronunciation was fine, but your wand movement was too slow. You need a quicker start."
"And when you finish, your motion needs to go straight down. You were way off."
Thanks to mastering the spell at 100%, Adam's movements looked like slow motion to Rock. It made it easy to spot every mistake.
Adam nodded, thought for a moment, and said, "Let me practice that a bit."
Rock had no objections. During the break, he'd swung a wand so many times just to reach full completion that he'd lost count.
Fixing his pronunciation in a mirror… that basic grind determined success or failure.
Done with Adam, Rock turned to Theo, signaling him to begin.
Theo was even worse than Adam—he was so nervous his pronunciation was off.
"Relax—this isn't a test."
Rock couldn't help laughing. Theo might seem more outgoing than Adam, but deep down he was a bit insecure. The only time he really talked big was about stargazing or toys.
Theo scratched the back of his head awkwardly.
"Your pronunciation can't be mushy. You don't have to shout the spell, but it needs to be clear."
"My advice? Practice the pronunciation separately—without the wand. Sometimes mispronouncing a syllable can cause… accidents."
"You know the 'Accidental Magic Reversal Squad,' right?"
He wasn't making that up—Theseus had told him about it.
The Ministry of Magic has a whole department just to deal with magical accidents caused by spell mistakes.
He remembered Theseus mentioning a witch who was so old her pronunciation was sloppy… and she accidentally transformed herself into a pile of weasels.
Theo blinked. He remembered hearing his parents talk about something like that.
He'd thought it was just a funny story.
Now his face went pale.
Knock knock—
Rock tapped the table with a helpless sigh. He'd meant to warn Theo—not give him a trauma.
"If you're not confident in your pronunciation, don't use your wand yet. Wandless magic is way beyond us anyway."
Clap clap clap—
Professor Flitwick, who had been helping other students nearby, applauded happily.
"Excellent teaching, Rock—very thorough!"
Then he turned to Adam and Theo:
"Everything Rock pointed out is exactly what you need to focus on. Even I couldn't have explained it more perfectly."
Adam and Theo both nodded repeatedly, then began practicing again.
Rock smiled at Professor Flitwick. "Thanks, Professor. I still have a lot to learn."
He wasn't trying to sound humble—his panel made it painfully clear how endless the path of learning was.
The road of grinding skill levels was long and unforgiving.
"Hahaha! Don't be too humble, my boy," Flitwick winked, then turned to the class and announced loudly:
"For helping his classmates—Ravenclaw gets five points!"
His student, his house—of course he'd spoil Rock a little.
Besides, Rock really had done an outstanding job. Flitwick didn't hesitate at all when giving points.
Once again, everyone's eyes were on Rock.
The Hufflepuffs looked impressed, while the Ravenclaws quietly started competing in their heads.
Seeing the classroom suddenly fill with motivation, Flitwick couldn't help smiling.
"Everyone, let's learn from Rock's method. Pair up—observe each other's spell movements, and using what I just taught you, point out each other's mistakes."
"If you're unsure about anything, you can ask me—or Rock."
Sitting there, Rock blinked—then his eyes lit up.
That was actually a brilliant idea.
Because just from correcting Adam and Theo earlier, his daily log was already blinking:
[Corrected a classmate's mistake — Levitation Charm EXP +1]
[Corrected a classmate's mistake — Levitation Charm EXP +1]
It wasn't much, but that was probably because neither of them successfully cast the spell.
Still, Professor Flitwick's method inspired him—he could gain experience by pointing out other students' mistakes.
With that thought—the young wizards in front of him were no longer random classmates…
They were bundles of fresh green XP waiting to be harvested.
Come here—let me farm you!
