Chapter 2 - Chapter Two Ι The Deer’s Corpse

In a dense forest, the Ox said to the Tiger,

"Brother Tiger, you're so mighty and imposing. Advancing in this Twelve Zodiac selection should be a sure thing for you, right?"

The Tiger laughed and said,

"Oh no, no, it's not that great."

The Ox said,

"Remember to put in a good word for me when the time comes."

At that moment, a Horse suddenly rushed out and said,

"You're just flattering him. If we're talking about power and dominance, shouldn't it be me?"

The Ox said disdainfully,

"Stop bragging."

The Tiger smiled and said,

"A horse talking about flattery, and an ox talking about bragging—you two are really funny."

Then the Tiger looked at the Horse and said,

"With just my tiger's roar, I can scare all of you away. Tell me, am I mighty or not? Am I imposing or not?"

At that moment, a Snake slithered down from a nearby tree and let out a "hiss, hiss, hiss."

The three of them were all startled by the sound.

The Tiger even jumped straight into the Ox's arms and said in fear,

"A snake! There's a snake!"

After they recovered, the Ox, Horse, and Tiger looked at each other awkwardly, and the Tiger jumped down from the Ox.

The Snake mocked from the side,

"A tiger that can roar is actually scared of a snake's hiss. That's hilarious."

The Tiger covered his face awkwardly.

The scene shifted. A Monkey held a wooden stick and sat on a Pig, shouting,

"Charge!"

Just as the Pig was charging with great enthusiasm, a Dog suddenly ran out ahead of them, and they crashed into each other.

The Dog stood up and asked,

"What are you doing?"

The Pig replied,

"We're training. It'll be useful for advancing in the Twelve Zodiac selection."

The Monkey said,

"What kind of dog crosses the road without waiting for the traffic lights?"

The Dog said speechlessly,

"This is a forest. Where would traffic lights come from? Did you get your head knocked silly?"

Nearby, a Goat finished a mouthful of grass and laughed,

"Seriously, pigs, dogs, and monkeys hanging out together. Hahaha, I'm dying of laughter."

The Pig said indignantly,

"Hey, you've got two horns on your head—what are you laughing at?"

After that, the Pig, Dog, and Monkey all burst out laughing.

The Goat, unable to swallow its anger, charged at them with its horns. Just like that, the three ran ahead while the Goat chased after them.

The Cat and the Rat were taking a walk outside.

The Cat said,

"I really want to go home and sleep."

The Rat replied,

"If you keep being this lazy…"

Just as it was about to continue, the two of them stopped at the same time, staring ahead in shock.

At the same time, while the Jiao Dragon was still begging the Rooster to lend it the comb on its head, the Rooster suddenly stopped, staring at the ground in terror.

Elsewhere, the Ox said,

"Oh, I told you…"

But when it turned around, it was stunned by what it saw. The Tiger, Snake, and Horse were the same.

The Goat, still chasing the Dog, Pig, and Monkey, also arrived there and froze as it looked at the terrifying scene ahead.

The Duck and the Swan, still fighting in midair, also arrived at the same place.

The Rabbit, who had just woken up from a nap beneath a big tree, saw so many animals gathering in the distance. Curious, it walked over—only to be so frightened by the scene that it hid behind the tree.

At that very moment, many animals had gathered at the scene.

They included the Cat, Rat, Jiao Dragon, Rooster, Ox, Horse, Tiger, Snake, Goat, Dog, Pig, Monkey, Duck, Swan, and Rabbit.

From afar, the Turtle called out,

"What happened? Wait for me, I'm coming."

It slowly took its first step.

All the animals looked around at one another in confusion. Right in front of them lay the corpse of a Deer.
