Chapter 69 - Chapter 69

Between the words of the two demons, they'd entered the house and saw the open door in the inner wall.

Suddenly, the quarrel stopped.

Susamaru shouted, "Hey, hey, don't tell me there's a back door leading outside and they've escaped through it?"

"That's impossible!" Yahaba said calmly. "This is an apartment—there's no back door. I already roughly observed it before coming in."

"Then they must be hiding..."

Before she could finish speaking, she felt a pain in her waist and abdomen like a mosquito bite, then something flowed into her body—extremely painful and excruciating.

"What the hell is this!"

Susamaru's face burst with bulging veins, and she subconsciously waved her arm to knock out the invisible person who'd attacked her.

But in the next second, she squatted to the ground in pain, twitching all over.

"Susamaru!"

Yahaba shouted, opened his arms, and aimed at the house's surroundings. The eyeballs in his palms turned, looking for the invisible assailant.

"It's someone who can stealth. They injected me with wisteria flower poison. My cells are being destroyed. I need time to decompose the toxin!"

Susamaru pulled out the syringe that had lost its Blood Demon Art blessing and threw it aside. Then she removed the upper body of her kimono, revealing her torso wearing only a chest wrap. The injected left abdomen had become irregularly swollen and was spreading to her whole body.

She stretched out her right hand, inserted it into the deteriorating body part, and directly tore off the swollen and agitated section.

But the flesh at the wound kept wriggling without healing as quickly as before.

Obviously, the poison had penetrated other parts.

Seeing this, Susamaru cursed fiercely, "Damn it, this poison has the effect of inhibiting self-healing!"

"How long will it take to recover?"

Yahaba stood in front of Susamaru with a vigilant expression, glancing around. The eyes in his palms had already faintly seen something.

"The dose of this poison isn't large. I can completely decompose it in five minutes."

"Then hurry up!"

After Yahaba finished speaking, he raised his hand and pointed forward. His eyes closed, and invisible arrows burst out.

Yushiro, who was about to attack again, was pierced by an arrow and flew through the air, accelerated, then slammed into the wall, leaving behind a huge spider web crater about five meters in diameter.

Yushiro also emerged from his invisibility.

"I saw it, I saw it! Invisibility is useless!" Yahaba smiled.

In fact, he hadn't seen him.

The eyes in his palms could indeed see imperceptible things, but they didn't have the ability to detect illusions and see invisible things.

At best, they provided insight.

But though he couldn't see Yushiro, he could see the abnormal flow of air.

"Isn't this the guy with the escapee?" Susamaru laughed happily while looking at Yushiro struggling to get up as she decomposed the toxin.

"Escapee?"

Yahaba was stunned for a moment, then smiled happily. "This is really a surprise!

Originally, we traced all the way here by investigating our people, but I didn't expect to find the escapee too. If we give her head to that person, he'll be very happy!"

"Yeah, we hit the jackpot! Ahaha..."

Operating room.

Coulson and Bobbi, who were hiding behind the wall, immediately showed guilt when they heard the conversation between the two demons.

Although Bobbi didn't know what was going on, she could probably guess that S.H.I.E.L.D. had been investigating these demons. As a result, the demons had found her and Coulson, who were also S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, through the investigating agents.

Then they'd searched all the way and found this place.

"It doesn't matter. We'd have to fight them sooner or later anyway." Tamayo shook her head gently and continued. "Demon cells have strong adaptability and self-healing ability and can decompose substances harmful to the body.

With the strength shown by these two demons, the wisteria flower poison will be decomposed in at most five minutes.

If you want to win, there's only now."

"Understood!" Coulson and Bobbi looked at each other and immediately stood up, shooting at Yahaba.

Of course they wanted to target the poisoned Susamaru.

But Yahaba stood in front of Susamaru and blocked her, so there was no chance at all.

In desperation, they had no choice but to settle for second best and aim at Yahaba.

After research by S.H.I.E.L.D.'s science department, these pistols had been optimized in terms of rate of fire, power, magazine capacity, accuracy, and recoil—far beyond the performance of standard military weapons in service. They emptied their magazines.

But to no avail.

Yahaba was standing in the center of the house. His monk's uniform was tattered with smoking bullet holes everywhere.

But he just stood there with furrowed brows, seeming very angry.

Yet it was only limited to being angry—not even the level of rage—which was enough to show the attack hadn't caused any real harm.

"I say, you guys!"

Yahaba said in a low voice, raised his arms sharply, and pointed his palms at Coulson and Bobbi. Invisible red arrows appeared and flew in front of his palms as he finished speaking.

"Have some decency—don't tear other people's clothes!"

Coulson and Bobbi had no time to process that.

Originally, they couldn't see the Koketsu Arrows, so they couldn't avoid or resist them. But with Yushiro's talisman, they could see them and naturally could dodge and defend.

But even if they could see them, avoiding wasn't easy.

Because the speed was too fast.

Even if not quite bullet speed, it wasn't much slower.

The moment the two saw the red arrows, they rushed to both sides.

But the red arrows seemed to have a navigation system installed—they bent 90 degrees at the moment of failure and changed direction to pursue.

And Coulson and Bobbi had just landed.

With their reaction and speed, it was absolutely too late to dodge.

It seemed the outcome was decided.

Yahaba laughed complacently. "Humans must have human awareness—just die obediently for me!"

Boom!

The moment the voice fell, the moment before the Koketsu Arrows shot through the two, Yushiro turned invisible, touched his side, and delivered an uppercut to Yahaba's chin, knocking his entire body into the air.

Yahaba felt pain and forgot to control the Koketsu Arrows, allowing Coulson and Bobbi to escape.

Yushiro succeeded with one strike and didn't stop. His hands rapidly punched and slapped Yahaba's body, bursting out circles of shockwaves.

A demon's physical qualities surpassed ordinary humans. Even if Yushiro's Blood Demon Art was an auxiliary effect, it didn't mean his physical strength was weak.

Coupled with the karate and judo he'd learned in his spare time... After a set of combo moves, Yahaba's body was beaten with fist marks all over.

But as Tamayo had said, generally speaking, battles between demons were meaningless because no matter how badly injured, they'd recover quickly.

Yushiro threw his last punch, knocking Yahaba into the air.

But before he hit the ground, he'd already healed.
