Chapter 27 - 27

Inside the cave, Viken, who had been sitting calmly just moments before, suddenly collapsed to the ground, rolling wildly. His face, neck, and chest were covered in blood, especially his face—his handsome features were gone, replaced by a gruesome mess of blood.

The scene was indescribably horrific. Annie, standing nearby, was stunned.

That unassuming little bamboo tube had unleashed such terrifying destructive power; she had been completely unprepared for it.

Rosen didn't hesitate. He leaped up, first hiding in a corner of the cave to avoid being accidentally injured, while shouting fiercely, "Annie~ cut off his head with the steel sword! Cut off his head before he transforms! Quickly~ Quickly~~~"

He knew very well that although the wound looked terrible, it was far from enough to kill the vampire. Once the vampire recovered from his pain and transformed into his monster form, they would both die!

Annie snapped out of her daze and instinctively drew her silver-plated sword and charged forward.

"Use the steel sword! Use the steel sword!" Rosen roared. Annie's silver sword was too poor, not sharp enough.

 "Okay!"

Annie also knew that they were at a critical moment. She immediately switched to the steel sword, took two steps forward, and with all her might, slashed at Viken's neck.

 "Ahhh~~~"

Annie instinctively screamed, the steel sword in her hand transforming into a streak of light, slicing through the air with a piercing 'hiss~'.

With a soft "thud," as if striking a rough hide, the steel sword pierced Viken's neck, cutting off a small portion before stopping.

Rosen looked over and saw Viken's hands raised, desperately gripping the blade, struggling to block the steel sword. Even from his bloodied face, it was clear he was in immense pain, but he was fighting for survival with everything he had.

"Aaaaaah!" Annie screamed, pressing down with all her might.

"Roar!" A sound, both human and beastly, rolled from Viken's throat.

At this moment, Annie was truly fighting desperately, but although her strength could easily shatter stone and split metal, she was still no match for the vampire. Viken's hands continued to lift the steel sword from her grasp, inch by inch. Even more terrifying, Viken's wounds were healing rapidly, and coarse black hairs were sprouting from his vital points.

He was transforming into a monster! Once the transformation is complete, Viken's strength will increase several times over, tearing Annie and Rosen to shreds.

 The situation is critical!

'At this rate, we're doomed!' Rosen realized this acutely.

His gaze swept quickly across the cave, settling on the bundle Annie had placed nearby. He rushed over and pulled out the remaining silver powder.

 'Die!'

He sprinkled all the silver powder onto Viken's face. Through the bloody wounds, the powder acted on Viken's body, instantly burning his face and sending thick blue smoke billowing out.

 'Ahhhhhh!'

A terrifying pain surged through him, and Viken screamed in agony, his grip loosening.

 'Thud!'

The steel sword, finally free of resistance, sliced through Viken's neck muscles, grazed the gaps in his cervical vertebrae, and severed Viken's head from his neck.

Rosen, having anticipated this, lunged forward and kicked Viken's head far away. He then quickly moved aside to avoid being hit by Viken's wildly swinging arms.

Vampires possess an unusually strong vitality, bordering on the absurd, especially high-ranking vampires, who are extremely difficult to kill. Even after their heads are severed, their bodies can still move. If someone were to reattach their heads, they would be fully healed in less than ten minutes.

At this moment, although headless, Viken's body was still flailing wildly, his arms whistling through the air. If these arms were to strike Rosen, they could cripple or even kill him instantly.

His head was also restless, his mouth constantly chewing and biting, his teeth clicking loudly. Getting bitten would certainly be a painful experience.

Annie had already retreated to the side, panting heavily. Despite only unleashing one sword strike, her forehead was already drenched in sweat. She looked at Rosen: "High-ranking vampires are practically unkillable! What do we do now?"

Rosen was also covered in cold sweat. In that split second, any mistake could have ruined the entire plan. He felt as if he could clearly smell death.

Even now, his heart was pounding wildly, almost leaping out of his throat.

He composed himself, quickly wiping the sweat from his brow, and shouted urgently, "Chop him up and burn him!"

In the game, there was a long-standing legend that 'high-ranking vampires cannot be killed,' but Rosen didn't believe it. He tried 49 times in the game; the first 30 were to defeat Viken, and the last 19 were to kill him completely.

Finally, he found a way to utterly destroy Viken.

Now, he was ready to use the same method.

"Okay, let's do it!" Annie immediately began.

After this battle, she was completely convinced of Rosen's abilities.

High-ranking vampires possess incredibly strong vitality. Even after losing their heads, they not only don't die, but their physical strength remains largely undiminished, making them even more monstrous than Wolverine.

However, losing their heads still has a significant impact.

The biggest impact is that their bodies lose their rationality, leaving only the instinct for self-preservation; while their heads may retain some rationality, they have lost their power.

After being decapitated, the vampire Viken was essentially powerless to fight.

After some effort, Annie easily severed Viken's hands and feet from his body.

Incredibly, even after being reduced to a stick, Viken's body continued to roll from side to side on the ground, the remaining muscles at the cuts still writhing.

His severed hands and feet bounced erratically on the ground, like a gecko's tail, still retaining considerable vitality.

Although it looked horrifying, as the body was continuously dismembered, the mobility of the separated parts was greatly reduced. Even to Rosen, he no longer posed a threat.

During this time, Rosen wasn't idle either; he was constantly gathering firewood in the forest near the cave.

To burn Viken's body to ashes, you can never have too much firewood.

Carrying another large bundle of firewood, Rosen glanced at the dismembered Viken and said, "Chop it into smaller pieces, the smaller the better!"
