Chapter 3 – Hamilton, Dads, and Dangerous Truth-or-Dares
Jay's POV
I woke up that morning feeling like a ticking time bomb with legs.
Why?
Because school decided to invite Section E to Hamilton—the super fancy after-grad party thing—and apparently everyone was supposed to be impressed or whatever.
"Jay," Aries groaned the second he saw me, "you are NOT going."
"Oh, really?" I asked, smirking. "And who's going to stop me? You?"
He looked ready to explode. Classic Aries.
I didn't even wait for his lecture.
I had comments to read.
"Jay goes. Aries is furious. Chaos ensues."
"She meets her dad. He's weird and mysterious. Drama."
"Keifer shows up eventually. You know the rest."
I shrugged and smiled.
If fate (or the fandom) wanted drama, fine.
I'll give it.
At Hamilton
Walking in, I felt like everyone's eyes were on me.
Kit, Yuri, David, Cin, Felix, Edrix, Rory, Josh, Blaster, Drew…
All present. All anticipating disaster.
And there he was.
Keifer.
Looking like a guy who could stop the world just by frowning.
I internally groaned because yes, the comments warned me: falling in love is inevitable. But no. I'm not letting fate write my story.
Before I could plan, I saw him. My father.
And holy hell.
"Plot twist: Dad shows up, secrets, restraining order chaos."
Exactly that.
Apparently, Mom had done something… a restraining order or whatever. He couldn't see me until I turned 18.
Cue tears, cue rage, cue internal screaming.
Aries swooped in like a hero—well, the closest thing to it. He made sure Dad left, and I couldn't stop staring at the comments predicting my emotional meltdown.
By the time I got home, my cheeks were wet from crying, and my heart felt like a blender.
Angelo wasn't helping.
I confronted him.
Yelled.
Cried.
He said the usual "I'm doing this for your safety" speech, which somehow made me want to punch him.
At Keifer's House
And somehow… somehow… I ended up at Keifer's house that evening.
No idea how I got there. Comments say it's destiny.
I'm not questioning it.
He opened the door with a raised eyebrow.
"Jay. You're here."
I smirked. "Yep. Deal with it."
We ended up on his living room floor because, naturally, the comments predicted I'd be dragged into Truth or Dare: Weird Edition.
Rule? If you refuse a question, the other person can draw on your face with a permanent marker.
Yes. Permanent.
"Jay swears. Keifer kisses her. Chaos. Comments go wild."
Perfect.
It started innocent.
"Truth or dare?"
"Dare."
And then—oh my GOD, the dares were… special.
I cursed at one of them—because of course, the comments warned me I'd swear first.
He leaned in close, voice low.
"If you swear again…"
I froze.
"…I'll have to kiss you."
Before I could scream, he did it.
Right there.
The world didn't stop, but my brain short-circuited.
Comments EXPLODED:
"OMG HE KISSED HER. THIS IS WHEN KEIFER STARTS QUESTIONING EVERYTHING 😭"
"FANS ARE LOSING IT. PROTECTIONS ARE FAILING. CHAOS."
"THE BEGINNING OF LIFELONG OBSESSION CONFIRMED."
I tried to pull back.
He pinned me gently—not aggressive, but enough to make me think he was deadly serious.
"You swore," he said, "I'm just enforcing the rule."
"RULE WILL LAST FOREVER. SHE'S DOOMED. KEIFER IS OFFICIALLY OBSESSED."
My face burned.
Comments were literally narrating my humiliation.
We continued the game.
Markers flew.
Laughs erupted.
Keifer scowled and smiled at the same time, like he had no clue what he was doing.
I didn't either.
By the end of the night, I realized something terrifying:
I could see the future, manipulate situations, and still… still, he was getting under my skin.
And the comments? They were giddy.
They had been waiting for this moment.
"JayFer officially activated. All chaos unlocked. Popcorn everywhere."
Yep.
This is officially the start of something insane.
And I am ready.
