CHAPTER 1: Welcome to Hell
Zein's Point of View
I couldn't stop scratching my leg. I was wearing short shorts that were always brushed by the grass around me. My rubber shoes were muddy too.
"Are you sure this is the way? Just tell me if we're lost, okay? So I won't be surprised." I said irritably.
"Could you, Zein? Be quiet? You've been complaining and complaining. You're not helping at all."
I just rolled my eyes at Mia who was busy pointing the direction. She was the one holding the map she picked up from somewhere.
"It's too grassy. Just be careful, there might be snakes around." Dave said.
"Thanks for scaring me, Dave." Vanessa said holding a stick.
"Sshh. You'll just get more tired if you keep talking." Jerome, who was walking ahead of us, shushed.
"We're almost there. Just a little patience." Matt calmed us down.
I almost cursed when mud stuck to my thigh. I glared at Vanessa because of the stick she was holding. She just laughed before moving next to Mia. She didn't even apologize.
We are going to Hell University in the middle of the forest right now. Isn't it amazing? Haha. Mia just picked up a map and of course, we are a barkada who loves adventure, here we are now, going there.
"Ouch!" I stumbled into Matt's back when he suddenly stopped. I just noticed that they all stopped.
My jaw dropped when I saw what they were looking at. An old gate that was so big and rusty. In the middle was 'HELL UNIVERSITY' written in what looked like blood. Creepy.
"Is this it?" Jerome asked. My eyes almost rolled. Isn't it obvious, Jerome?
"I think this is it." Mia said.
"What are you doing here?!"
I held onto Matt's clothes because I was scared of a man suddenly appearing with a machete. Gosh!
"Is this Hell University? We want to enroll." Said Mia.
A grin appeared on the man's dry lips. Shit! I think I don't want this anymore.
"Follow me." He started walking ahead of us.
I held onto Vanessa's arm who was excited. Excitement was evident on their faces while I was scared. Psh.
"I think. It's a bad idea, Van." I whispered to Vanessa.
"I don't think so."vanessa said.
I couldn't believe it when we entered. We were greeted by students who were quietly talking. Others were crying.
"You should be registered first." The man said.
I couldn't take my eyes off the students. Others were giving us sharp glares. Then others were grinning. Shet! Creepy.
"It will be exciting." Jerome whispered, winking at the girls.
The place felt so cramped even though it was so wide. Hell University. I covered my mouth when the students suddenly ran.
"What's going on?" Vanessa asked.
"Riot. Just ignore it." The man chined in.
"Riot? Why does it seem like no one is
stopping them? You? Why are you still here?" Dave asked.
We stopped at a door. The man, who couldn't remove the grin on his lips, faced us.
"All your questions will be answered. Come here."
We went inside the room and we were greeted by a woman sitting on a swivel chair. She signaled us to sit down which we did.
The muddy floor became even muddier because of our shoes covered in mud. Don't they know how to clean? Tsk.
"So, Good Morning newbies. I am Madame Violet, HU's Headmistress. Please, fill up the forms." The man handed us forms.
While filling up, I also glanced at Madame and the man who was grinning at us. My throat dried up so I just returned my attention to the form.
"Welcome to Hell University!" Madame and the man laughed together.
"Thanks. Hmmm. How much is the tuition fee?" Mia asked.
"I am a scholar and I brought all my documents." Vanessa said.
Madame and Mama looked at each other then laughed. Gosh! Why do they seem so weird?
