Ethan;
I'm stretched out on the bed with my back against the headboard, one knee bent, and the other dangling lazily off the mattress.
My phone is in my hand, but I'm not scrolling aimlessly this time.
I'm reading.
For the first time in a long time, I'm actually reading.
And that, too, an actual novel.
It's one of the old ones I downloaded years ago, but never finished.
Reading the words again fills me with so much nostalgia that I can not get rid of the freaking blush on my face.
I'm halfway through a page when the door to my room flies open.
Not opens… But flies.
It FLIES open.
I jerk in fright, only to find Anu storming into the room like she's about to file a formal complaint against the universe.
She kicks the door shut behind her with her heel and drops her bag on the chair so hard it almost topples over.
Her movements are sharp, aggressive, and so offended that I don't know if to speak or just shut the fuck up.
