Emily's mind was racing as she tried to think of a way to escape. Victor's plan was insane, and she knew she had to stop him. She looked around the room, searching for any weakness in her restraints or a possible escape route.
As Victor gloated about his plan, his henchmen began to argue among themselves. Emily saw her chance. She used her feet to quietly push a nearby chair towards the arguing men, creating a distraction.
In the chaos, Emily managed to loosen the ropes binding her hands. She quickly freed herself and made a break for the door.
She sprinted down the corridor, her heart pounding in her chest. She could hear Victor's men closing in behind her.
As she turned a corner, she collided with a figure. Strong arms wrapped around her, holding her steady.
"Emily, it's me," a familiar voice whispered in her ear.
Preston.
Emily's first instinct was to push him away, but she knew she needed his help to escape. "We need to get out of here," she whispered back.
Preston nodded and took her hand, pulling her through the maze of corridors. They finally reached a door that led to the outside.
As they emerged into the night air, Emily saw Jessie, bound and gagged, being held by one of Victor's men.
"Let her go," Emily demanded, her voice shaking with anger.
Victor sneered at her. "You'll do as I say, or your friend dies."
Preston grip on her hand tightened. "We won't let that happen, Emily. We're getting out of here, together."
Suddenly, a shot rang out, and everything went dark.
