Chapter 63 - ISOLDE RETURNS

POV: KIERAN SOLIS

Timeline: Immediately after portal explosion

Location: Shadowlands Border - CHAOS

She's wrong.

That's my first thought. Looking at Isolde—at the thing that USED to be Isolde.

She's been in dimensional space too long. Been touched by void. Been changed.

She's not human anymore. Not fully.

"Kieran," she says, and her voice has LAYERS. Like multiple voices speaking at once. "My dear boy. Did you really think you could stop me?"

I can't speak. Can't move. The power radiating off her is CRUSHING.

This isn't the woman who kidnapped me. Who tortured me.

This is something worse. Something evolved.

"KIERAN!" Ravion grabs me. Pulls me back. "Don't listen to her! Don't look directly—"

"Too late." Isolde's eyes—black, empty, WRONG—lock onto mine. "He's already seen. Already knows. His twin knows too, don't you Kaelis?"

Through the bond, I feel Kaelis react. He's in Arventis. Miles away. But he FEELS this. Feels HER.

Kieran! What's happening?!

She's back. Isolde. She's—she's different. Wrong. POWERFUL.

I'm coming! Hold on!

No time!

Because Isolde is moving. Gliding forward. Void creatures following her like pets. Reality bending around her presence.

"I've been waiting," she says. "Planning. In dimensional space, time moves differently. I've had YEARS to prepare. To grow. To become what I was always meant to be."

"A monster," Ravion says. Shadows coil around him. Ready to strike. "You've become a monster."

"No, dear Ravion. I've become a GOD."

She raises her hand.

Dark magic EXPLODES outward.

Ravion throws up shadow barriers. They SHATTER. Like glass.

We're thrown backward. Slammed into the ground.

Around us, both armies are in chaos. Soldiers fighting void creatures. Mages trying to close the portal. Daemon screaming orders that nobody can hear.

Total warfare. Total chaos.

"This is what power REALLY looks like," Isolde continues. Walking through the carnage. Untouched. "Not your little kingdom games. Not your pathetic political maneuvering. REAL POWER. The kind that breaks worlds."

She's heading toward the portal. Toward the dimensional tear.

"She's trying to expand it," Ravion gasps beside me. "If she makes it bigger—if she connects our world to the void permanently—"

"Everything dies."

"Everything ENDS."

We have to stop her. But HOW? She's too strong. Too changed.

The twin bond pulses. Urgent. Desperate.

Kieran! Let me in!

What?

The bond! Like this morning! Let me share your body! I can help!

But you're in Arventis! You can't—

I don't have to BE there! The bond can bridge distance! Let me IN!

I don't have time to think. To question.

I just OPEN the bond.

And Kaelis FLOODS IN.

Suddenly I'm not alone in my head. My body. Kaelis is HERE. With me. In me. US.

Okay, his voice/our voice/OUR SHARED CONSCIOUSNESS. Let's try this.

We stand. Together. Two minds. One body. Kieran's diplomatic intelligence plus Kaelis' combat instinct.

Shadows and water magic respond. Both. Simultaneously.

Because we're not just Kieran anymore. Not just Kaelis.

We're BOTH.

Ravion stares. "Kieran? What—"

"It's US," we say. Our voice. Both twins speaking simultaneously. "We're together. And we're ending this."

We run toward Isolde. Magic gathering. Shadow-water constructs forming. Weapons materializing.

She turns. Sees us. SMILES.

"There you are. My beautiful twins. Together at last." She spreads her arms. "Come then. Show me what the prophecy really made you. Show me if you're worthy of the power I wanted."

We don't answer. Just ATTACK.

Shadow-water lashes out. Striking like whips. Cutting. Binding.

Isolde blocks. Easy. Like swatting flies.

We shift. Change tactics. Because we have TWO tactical minds now. Kaelis' chaos plus Kieran's strategy.

Water from below. Shadows from above. Simultaneous assault.

She blocks again. But slower. We're making her WORK.

Around us, the battle continues. Daemon's forces trying to retreat. Ravion rallying our troops. The portal still GROWING.

We need to end this.

Kaelis?

Yeah?

Remember what Nyx said? About our combined power?

That it's unstoppable when focused?

Let's test that.

We reach deep. Into the twin bond. Into the prophecy magic that made us. Into the CORE of what we are.

And we PULL.

Power EXPLODES from us. Pure. Raw. Twin magic in its truest form.

It slams into Isolde.

She STAGGERS.

First time. First actual hit.

"Impossible," she gasps. "You're—you're just CHILDREN—"

"We're KINGS," we say. Our voice. Unified. Powerful. "And you're done."

We push harder. The magic intensifying. Water and shadow and CHAOS all combining into something new.

Something neither of us could do alone.

Something ONLY twins could create.

Isolde screams. The void power around her flickering. Weakening.

The portal behind her starts SHRINKING.

"NO!" She throws everything at us. Dark magic. Void creatures. Reality-bending attacks.

We hold. Because we're TWO. Because we're together. Because we're—

The portal SNAPS SHUT.

Isolde's power SOURCE severed. The dimensional tear CLOSED.

She falls to her knees. Still powerful. But MORTAL again.

"How..." she whispers.

"Together," we answer. "Like we were always meant to be."

Ravion is suddenly beside us. Daemon too. Both looking shocked.

"Is she—" Ravion starts.

"Contained," we finish. "For now. But we need—"

Isolde LAUGHS.

"You think you've won? You think CLOSING ONE PORTAL stops me?" She looks up. Eyes still black. Still wrong. "I've learned things in the void. Secrets. POWER. This isn't over. Not even close."

"Maybe not," we say. "But today? Today we won."

Shadow bindings wrap around her. Ravion's work. Then water chains. Nyx's constructs—he must be watching remotely.

Isolde is BOUND.

We feel Kaelis pulling back. Leaving my body. Returning to his own in Arventis.

Good work, twin.

You too. That was...

Intense.

AMAZING.

All of the above.

I'm alone in my head again. Just Kieran. Just me.

But I can still feel him. Through the bond. Close.

I collapse. Exhausted. Ravion catches me.

"Easy. You did it. You actually—" He sounds amazed. "You BEAT her."

"We beat her," I correct. "All of us. Together."

Around us, the armies are standing down. The battle is over. Void creatures retreating back through dimensional cracks that are SEALING.

Daemon approaches. Looks at Isolde. At me. At Ravion.

"Well," he says quietly. "That was unexpected."

"What happens now?" I ask.

He looks at Isolde for a long moment. At the woman he was obsessed with. Who used him. Who became a monster.

"Now?" He turns away. "Now she faces trial. Proper trial. With all kingdoms present. And I..." He pauses. "I go home. And try to figure out who I am without her."

He walks away. His army following. Defeated but alive.

Isolde is loaded onto a shadow-prison cart. Still bound. Still powerless.

Ravion holds me upright as we watch her taken away.

"It's really over," I whisper.

"This part is," he agrees. "But there's still cleanup. Still consequences. Still—"

"Still everything else." I lean into him. "But we'll handle it."
