POV: KIERAN SOLIS
Timeline: Immediately after building collapse
Location: Shadowlands → Escape Route
---
We're running.
The building is collapsing behind us—stone and shadow crumbling, reality itself fracturing from the power explosion we just unleashed.
"MOVE!" Ravion shouts, shadows forming a protective barrier above us as debris falls.
My legs are barely working. The ritual drained me. Everything hurts.
Kaelis is beside me, also stumbling, but his hand is locked with mine. The twin bond pulses between us—alive, electric, stronger than ever.
"Keep going!" I gasp. "We're almost—"
The floor beneath us cracks.
We're falling.
Ravion catches me. His shadows wrap around both of us like wings, slowing our descent.
We hit ground level hard—but alive.
"Everyone okay?" Ravion demands.
"Define okay," Kaelis mutters, spitting dust.
"THERE!" Mira's voice echoes from above. "THEY'RE ESCAPING!"
Shadow Court members pour from the collapsing building.
"Fuck," I breathe. "There's too many—"
Water EXPLODES from the ground.
Nyx.
He's still outside, holding the army. Now his water constructs reach inside, tearing open a path for us.
"THIS WAY!" his voice booms. "NOW!"
We run.
Shadow Court members lunge. Ravion's shadows intercept—slashing, blocking, creating chaos.
"GO!" he shouts at us. "I'll hold them!"
"We're not leaving you!" I protest.
"You're not leaving me. You're RUNNING AHEAD." His red eyes flash. "Trust me. GO!"
Kaelis pulls me forward.
We run through the water corridor Nyx created.
Behind us, Ravion becomes a whirlwind of shadows—cutting down enemies, raising walls, buying us seconds we desperately need.
We burst out of the building.
Into bigger chaos.
The Shadowlands exterior is a warzone.
Nyx stands at the center, surrounded by water constructs fighting hundreds of Shadow Court members.
He's magnificent and terrifying—eyes glowing pure silver, water forming weapons faster than thought, cutting through enemies with surgical precision.
But he's tiring. Even a god has limits.
"NYX!" Kaelis screams.
Nyx's head snaps toward us. Relief floods his face.
"You're alive!" He doesn't stop fighting. "Get to the portal! North side—I've opened an exit!"
"Not without you!" Kaelis is already running toward him.
"KAELIS, NO!"
But my twin is stubborn.
The moment he reaches Nyx, the water constructs stabilize—stronger, sharper.
They fight together now.
Nyx's control. Kaelis' chaos.
A devastating combination.
Shadow Court members fall in waves.
"KIERAN!" Ravion bursts from the building, covered in blood—not his. "The portal! Now!"
"Not without them!"
"They're COMING!" He grabs my arm and drags me toward the swirling portal glowing ahead—our escape.
CRACK.
The Shadowlands fracture.
Reality itself starts breaking apart under the magic tearing through it.
"The realm is collapsing!" Nyx shouts. "EVERYONE MOVE!"
We run together—Ravion and me in front, Nyx and Kaelis behind—sprinting as the world literally falls apart.
The ground splits.
Void space yawns beneath us.
We jump.
Ravion's shadows catch us, forming bridges across the gaps.
Almost there.
Twenty feet.
Fifteen.
Ten—
A figure materializes in front of the portal.
Isolde.
"Going somewhere, boys?" Her voice is ice.
We skid to a halt.
She looks different—disheveled, furious, and beneath it all… desperate.
"You destroyed my ritual," she says. "Years of planning. DESTROYED."
"Good," Kaelis spits.
"You don't understand." She steps forward, dark magic crackling—wrong, unstable. "I NEEDED that power. I needed you both. I sacrificed everything—"
"You sacrificed nothing," Ravion cuts in coldly. "You only took."
"SILENCE!" Her magic flares. "You don't know what I've done. What I've GIVEN UP—"
"We know what you did to Kieran," Kaelis says. "The torture. The mind games. The—"
"That was NECESSARY!" Isolde snaps. "To make him weak. To make him need rescue. To lure you all here so I could—"
She stops.
Too late.
"So you could WHAT?" Nyx demands.
Her smile turns brittle. "So I could do this."
She hurls her magic forward.
Not at us.
At the PORTAL.
It collapses.
Gone.
"NO!" I scream.
"You're not leaving," Isolde says calmly. "Not until I get what I came for."
The Shadowlands continue to collapse. Void space creeps closer.
Minutes left. Maybe less.
"You're insane," Ravion says flatly. "You'll die too."
"Then we all die," she replies, spreading her arms. "If I can't have the prophecy power, NOBODY gets it."
She means it.
"Last chance," Isolde says. "Surrender. Give me your power willingly. I'll let the others live."
"Your word is worthless," Kaelis snarls.
"Then we do this the hard way."
She raises her hands—
The ground SURGES.
Water. Endless, violent water.
Nyx's eyes blaze silver.
"You want a fight?" he growls. "Fine. But you're fighting a GOD."
Water erupts like a geyser, lifting all of us.
Including Isolde.
"WHAT—NO!"
"HOLD ON!" Nyx shouts.
The water forms a massive sphere—protective—and LAUNCHES upward.
We're flying.
Shooting straight through the collapsing Shadowlands.
Void space snaps at the edges. Reality fractures—but Nyx's power holds.
"There!" he points.
Above us—another tear.
Not a portal.
A CRACK.
"That's not stable!" Ravion yells.
"It's all we've got!" Nyx roars, forcing more power through.
Isolde screams, slashing at the water with dark magic.
"LET ME OUT! YOU'LL KILL US ALL!"
"Better than letting you kill my family!" Nyx bellows.
We hit the crack.
Reality—
SHATTERS.
