Chapter 2 - 2

Raven woke up groggily, slumped against a wall.

"The hell..." she muttered as she pressed her hand against her forehead.

Squinting her eyes, she tried to make out her surroundings. Through the faint light seeping in from some cracks in the walls, she could barely make out what looked like the inside of... a truck?

Suddenly, the floor beneath her trembled and tilted sideways, causing her to slam face-first into a pile of cardboard boxes.

"Ouch, that hurt," she winced, rubbing her face where it got crushed.

She took her time to look around this place. The interior of the vehicle looked old and unkept, as if it hadn't been used for a long time. Most of the paint on the walls was peeling off and falling to the ground, which was already littered with a bunch of random items and dust, a lot of dust.

Euh, this is gross

After waiting a while for the vehicle to stabilize, Raven pushed herself up, half walking, half hopping on one leg as the boxes kept getting in her way—each step she took kicked up clouds of dust.

"Right, uhhh- hologram thingy?" she called out, now that she's found a cleaner spot to sit in.

no response

"Of course, what did I expect?" She scoffed

The mysterious projection definitely isn't going to help; hell, it might be the reason she's in such a predicament in the first place.

"So does this mean I've been transported to another world or something?-"

"Then uh, what do I do now?"

She originally thought about just opening the loading door, but to no surprise, it was locked.

What was I thinking anyway, it's not like I can jump out of a moving truck- or cargo box- or argh whatever the hell I'm in.

… might as well see where it takes me.

For the time being, there's no way for her to get out; she's too lazy to do so anyway. Plus, the lack of ventilation is making her dizzy and unfocused.

She will slack off for the time being, and the rest can come later.

For a while, she simply laid on her back, staring blankly at the ceiling

Then her gaze fell on the pile of random objects and boxes.

Eh, might as well check these out…

It's not as if I have anything better to do.

"Another foot massager? Seriously?"

For the past 30 minutes or so, she's been rummaging through the pile of built-up junk.

So far, her findings consists of a few random markers without caps books and manga containing rather uhm… interesting subjects, a coffee maker, an empty bag of candy, and a box of worn-out cutlery.

Raven groaned before flopping back onto the ground. She had expected to find something useful, like weapons, a phone, food… actually, maybe not food, anything that's been left sitting- rotting in this pathetic excuse of a truck might as well kill her if she tried to eat it.

However, on the positive note, she did manage to secure a pair of rusty forks from that box of cutlery.

She had originally hoped that there were knives inside the box. After all, it would only make sense since, well, IT WAS A BOX OF CUTLERY. But to her utter disappointment, the only type of knife she found was pathetic butter knives. So forks it is.

Eh, probably won't be of much use, but better than nothing. Might as well take them.

She thought as she slid the forks into her pockets.

"Anyways, let's see what else there is in this junkyard" she muttered to herself

Raven is kinda starting to 'enjoy' sorting through the random items. Even though it's dirty, and stuffy, and the dust is flying everywhere, AND most importantly, there's an undeniably growing need to go to the bathroom. On second thought, maybe she doesn't enjoy it, but it passes the time. At least for now.
