Chapter 4 - When Two Destinies Recognize Each Other

The hall fell into absolute silence.

Little Rai peeked curiously from behind her father's robes, her small hand gripping tightly to his sleeve. Across the room, baby Kai simply stared with calm, dark eyes—eyes that seemed to reflect everything and nothing at once.

Diviner Qing closed his own eyes for a moment, gathering himself. The sensation he felt within the world of fate was overwhelming—two destiny lines resonating, vibrating in the same rhythm, like two notes played on different instruments yet forming a perfect harmony.

He exhaled slowly.

"It is confirmed," he said at last, voice low and solemn. "These two children… their fate paths converge."

Lee Min looked puzzled. His gaze alternated between the baby and the little girl.

"What does that mean, Senior Qing?"

Zhou Ming spoke before Qing could answer, his tone steady despite the shock lingering beneath it.

"Brother Min… Senior Qing divined my daughter's fate when she was born. She has a constitution unlike any other—dormant, mysterious, unpredictable. And her destiny was tied to an unknown existence."

He turned toward Kai, disbelief flickering in his eyes.

"I never imagined that existence would be… an infant found in a forest."

Su Yan instinctively held Kai closer, as if safeguarding him from scrutiny. Her brows knit together.

"Whatever, now he is my son."

"This child was abandoned," she said quietly. "Found in a place no ordinary person could survive. If fate connected him to your daughter… then I would say it isn't a mere coincidence."

Qing nodded.

"It certainly isn't."

—————

Diviner Qing stood there silently, almost as if he seemed to be thinking something, very deeply that even if someone stood in front of him, he won't react.

Then, Qing stepped toward Su Yan and Lee Min.

"If you permit," he said, "I would like to examine his fate."

Lee Min hesitated briefly. But Su Yan, after a moment of thought, gently nodded.

"Go ahead," she whispered. "But be gentle… he's still so small."

She thought perhaps they could know something about Kai or his origin.

Diviner Qing placed his fingers above Kai's brow.

The world around him faded softly.

Darkness.

Then—a faint golden spherical shape appeared, suspended in the vast emptiness.

Threads of destiny spiraled around it, shifting like slow-moving stars.

Qing's heart tightened. The sight was eerily familiar.

"This… is extremely similar to Rai's fate," he muttered in disbelief. "But… not identical. Their paths are separate… yet aligned. Not the same, yet compatible. Two different lives… following the same rhythm of destiny."

He had never seen such a thing in his entire life.

Even twins—born together, raised together, cultivating together—always had distinct fate structures. But here… two unrelated children possessed destiny lines that moved in harmony.

"What .... even is this?" Qing whispered under his breath.

The golden sphere pulsed once, as if responding.

Qing's heart skipped a beat.

He withdrew his hand abruptly, breaking the vision immediately.

His face was pale and seemed devoid of blood, almost like a sick person.

Zhou Ming frowned. "Senior Qing? What did you see?"

Diviner Qing inhaled deeply.

"What I saw… ?

Do you really want to hear?"

Lee Min instantly answered, "Of course, whatever it may be we wants to hear it."

Su Yan also agreed with that.

"It should be impossible," he said to Zhou Ming and Lee Min and others. "Your daughter's fate is one-of-a-kind. And yet this child—Kai—shares an echo of it. Their futures overlap—in timing, direction, and outcome."

He steadied himself.

"It means that at certain critical points in their lives… their destinies acts as one."

A shiver passed through everyone in the hall.

Such a fate… was heavier than anything they imagined.

Not to mention existing no one had even imagined something like this ever before.

———————————

Lee Min then stepped forward.

"Senior Qing… if you know anything about this child's strange constitution, we ask you to enlighten us."

Everyone turned toward Qing with expectant eyes.

Diviner Qing had understood now what it was after examining, and even before that he knew that it wouldn't be simple, after all, he came to know of little Rai's destiny combining only because of Kai.

So, of course, he was the one with most knowledge about it right now.

Diviner Qing remained silent for a few breaths, then finally spoke.

"…In the ancient records, I once came across a mention of a body that rejects all low-quality spiritual energy."

Zhou Ming's eyes narrowed. "You mean—"

"Yes," Diviner Qing continued. "A constitution so rare that even ancient sects barely knew its name. The only thing recorded was its effect—the body would not accept impure energy. Not a single strand."

An elder gasped softly.

"That matches exactly what we witnessed…. just before you came here!"

Diviner Qing nodded gravely.

"This constitution forces the child to cultivate only refined, high-purity energy. But such energy exerts tremendous pressure… impossible for an infant to handle."

He glanced at little baby, his expression turning complicated.

"It means he cannot cultivate for many years to come. Not until his body matures enough to withstand that purity."

Lee Min frowned deeply.

"A delayed cultivation path…"

"Yes," Diviner Qing confirmed. "Delayed—but not destroyed."

He clearly explained as not to confuse others.

His gaze sharpened.

"And more importantly… this constitution is rarer than even little Rai's. It appears only once across entire eras. And now, two such rare destinies have appeared side by side."

The hall fell into absolute silence under the weight of those words.
