Silver's POV - The Library Stairs
Boyfriend.
The word echoed in Silver's head as he took the library stairs two at a time. His chest burned. So that was it. Not a crush. Not confusion. A real relationship. It explained everything… the distance, the excuses, the mysterious calls, the way Cameron always seemed just out of reach.
Silver felt stupid. Like he'd been chasing answers that were already right in front of him.
Then the feeling hardened into something else. Resolve.
Cameron had looked certain, yes. But Silver had seen the way Blackwood looked at him in the garden. Like Cameron was a priceless asset. A possession. Was that happiness? Or was it just intensity?
Things change. He'd said it to get a reaction, to plant a seed. But he believed it. College relationships didn't last forever. Long-distance was hard. And dating a force of nature like Aaron Blackwood? That couldn't be easy. It couldn't be normal.
