Chapter 4 - Chapter: 4The First Clash"

"I should take a bath. I'm sweating a lot…" Leo muttered.

"David," he called.

"Yes, David."

"Prepare a hot bath for me. I need to freshen up," Leo ordered.

David nodded and summoned the maids. "Prepare a hot bath for Young Master Leo," he instructed.

"Also… bring me a book about this country—all knowledge," Leo added.

David nodded and left.

Leo stepped into the bathtub.

The temperature was perfect. He closed his eyes for a moment, letting the warmth relax his muscles, then began to think

From the memories he had acquired, he now knew his family: four siblings—an older brother, two older sisters, and a younger sister.

His mother, Rebeca, had been in a coma for three years due to an incurable illness.

Despite many attempts by priests, none could heal her. She was the only woman his father had loved.

Because of his past weakness, the family had treated him coldly. The only exceptions were his mother.

and older sister Alisha, who showed kindness, not affection.

Leo murmured, Should I just kill them all?

A pause. He shook his head. Not yet. First, I need to build my body. My mana is here, but thanks to the idiot Leo, my physical condition is terrible.

He stood, stepped from the bath, and searched the wardrobe.

"Eeh… what are these clothes? Is he a woman or something? Bright pinkish clothes… no wonder she dumped you."

He found a full black outfit tucked in the corner. Perfect. He wore it and looked in the mirror—black, smooth hair falling over his face. Well… he has a pretty face after all.

He called David.

"Yes, Young Master?"

"Throw away all my old clothes. Buy me dark-toned ones."

"Understood, Young Master."

"And where is my father?"

"In the main hall, Young Master," David replied, his surprise evident. He noticed the change in Leo—cold, composed, far from the abandoned puppy of yesterday.

"Let's go," Leo said, walking toward the main hall.

Duke Drake Rosard—the kingdom's greatest swordsman—had always been distant toward Leo, giving him the cold shoulder. I think he already knew about the broken engagement.

I should give him my best impression, Leo thought, a slight smile on his lips.

The hall was vast, swallowed in shadows. Walls stretched endlessly, fading into darkness. The echo of his footsteps seemed almost sacrilegious. At the far end, a figure waited—commanding, draped in obscurity.

The Duke sat in a massive chair, though it seemed to vanish into the gloom, leaving only the weight of authority. The air itself felt alive, bending toward him.

Leo's eyes narrowed. System, he called silently.

A translucent panel flickered before his vision, unseen by anyone else.

Name: Drake Rosard

Age: 58

Path: Sword

Rank: ???

Threat Level: ???

Why can't I see his levels? Leo asked inwardly.

[Your current level is insufficient to evaluate the target's threat.]

He lifted his gaze toward the Duke. So I need to level up first.

"Father…" Leo's voice was low, breaking slightly against the oppressive quiet.

The Duke shifted—a subtle motion carrying the weight of decades. "Do you know why I called you here?" His voice was cold, resonant.

For a moment, Leo saw more than a father—an enigma, a presence that made the emptiness feel smaller yet infinitely dangerous.

"Is it because Evelyn broke the engagement?" he asked calmly.

"Pathetic," his father said. "Did you understand why she dumped you?"

Leo didn't say a word. He simply stared into his father's eyes without fear.

Then he said with a smile, "Because she's a bitch."

His father's eyes blinked in surprise, and David, standing to the side, also widened his eyes.

His father asked, hiding his emotions, "What do you feel about her now?"

Leo looked at him and replied with a smile:

"Why should I care about a woman who had a fiancé and then spread her legs for a man she barely knew? I can buy as many women like her on the street for half the cost of what I'm wearing."

Drake blinked in surprise. David, standing to the side, widened his eyes.

His grin was cold, calculating. Drake tilted his head, surprised. David's jaw dropped.

Leo simply smiled at both of them—a devil's smile.
