My Girlfriend Is Stronger Than the Demon Lord – Volume5 (Chapter 5)
The castle shook as Aria and Selphira faced each other in the shattered coronation chamber. Sparks of magic crackled through the air. Demons crowded around the walls, whispering excitedly like they were watching the greatest show in centuries.
Selphira spun her spear, carving a crescent of black fire. "I'll give you one chance, Goddess. Surrender the throne and leave the demon realm."
Aria rolled her shoulders. "I told you—I don't want the throne."
"Then die."
Selphira launched forward like a lightning bolt.
I barely blinked before Aria appeared in front of me, catching the spear between two fingers.
Two fingers.
Selphira's eyes widened. "Impossible…"
Aria sighed. "Can we not? I was hoping for a peaceful day."
Selphira kicked off the floor, flipping backward. She sent a wave of shadow blades that tore through the air. Aria flicked her hand and they dissolved like soap bubbles.
The demons gasped.
Gorvath roared, "Our Lady shows mercy! Witness her unmatched power!"
Selphira snarled. "Don't underestimate me!"
With a cry, she slammed her spear into the ground, releasing a dome of crushing demonic energy. The floor cracked. The torches blew out. Even I felt the pressure, dropping to one knee.
Aria didn't budge.
"Eren!" she called. "Close your eyes!"
I obeyed immediately.
A heartbeat later, a shockwave burst through the chamber—warm, bright, gentle. When I opened my eyes, Selphira was embedded in a wall, smoke curling from her armor. Aria stood in the center of the room, unharmed, glowing faintly with divine power.
Selphira groaned. "What… are you…?"
"Someone who just wants to date her boyfriend," Aria answered.
The demons erupted in cheers.
"THE NEW DEMON LORD!"
"HER POWER IS ABSOLUTE!"
"LONG LIVE OUR BEAUTIFUL RULER!"
Aria turned red. "Stop shouting!"
The demon priest limped forward. "My Lady… your victory makes it official. You have the right to the throne."
Aria looked at me. "Eren… what do you think?"
I took her hand. "If becoming Demon Lord keeps the demon realm stable, maybe it's not so bad."
She exhaled softly. "Then… I'll do it."
The demon realm trembled with joy.
And so, against her will but with a determined heart,
Aria accepted her destiny.
