Dan and Noemí's moment wasn't as awkward as Dan had thought it would be.
-Do you like reading too much?- Dan asks.
-Yes, I've read too many books, for me each one is a new world where I can imagine I'm there.
-That's amazing, now I understand why your reading is perfect when you read at school.
Noemí blushes a little at the compliment.
-Well... I've been reading for years, that's why.
Dan closes his eyes and starts counting on his fingers Noemí's most notable traits.
-Reader, Smart, Pretty, Calm. You're perfect.
They both fall silent, Dan realizes what he just said, they both blush up to their ears.
Dan says blushing and stuttering.
-O-Or I mean, You're not perfect- He gives himself a little tap on the head- I mean yes you are but-but.
Noemí smiles understanding what he meant.
-It's okay, I understand, calm down.- She says even though she's still blushing and nervous.
Dan looks down, embarrassed for saying that without thinking it through.
Back at the guys' table.
Josías stood up from the table.
-I'm going to the bathroom, I won't be long.
Brandon was still asleep, he mumbled "Okay" again.
Josías was walking to the bathroom but suddenly his gaze shifted to a table, it was the table where Dan and Noemí were.
He hid behind a book shelf.
(He also forgot he wanted to go to the bathroom).
-Finally he did it- He whispered to himself.
Josías thought about his options of what he could do now: If he got closer they might find him and think he's a gossip. If he stayed there he could see what they were doing but he couldn't hear what they were saying very well.
He debated this seriously but finally his curiosity won out, so he quietly moved closer, pretending to look for a book.
Dan was still talking to Noemí with a smile but obviously noticed Josías at the shelf in front.
-Have you read "One Hundred Years of Solitude"?- Dan asked Noemí.
-Of course, I really liked that book- She was still nervous but happy.
-There's a part I didn't understand, can you help me make sense of it?.
-Of course, we can read it... Together.
Dan nods and stands up from his seat.
-I'll go get the book, I won't be long.
He stood up and walked towards Josías, he stood next to him pretending to look for the book.
-Listening in on conversations? Gossip.- Dan said in a low voice so Noemí wouldn't hear them.
-Huh?, No, no, what do you think, I was looking for a book to read.
-You don't even read comics, how are you going to read a book?.
Josías sighs when he's found out.
-It's just the first time you've had a conversation with her without her running away, I was curious.
-Well, the truth is if I saw you talking to a girl I'd be curious too.
-See. Tell me ¿What are you talking so much about?. Lovebirds- He gives him a gentle nudge.
-You're rushing things too much, but we're talking about books.
-And what's it like talking to her?.
Without realizing it Dan blushes a little.
-Well she's a very sweet and cute girl... Talking to her feels good and relaxing.
Josías notices the blush but says nothing, he just smiles.
-I understand.- He hands him the book "One Hundred Years of Solitude"- Now go, don't keep her waiting.
Dan takes the book and nods. He goes back to his table with Noemí.
-Ready, I found the book.
Josías stayed there to keep listening but can't hear anything now. In his mind he said: "Damn Dan, he lowered his voice so I can't hear, I'll have to use my secret weapon."
He approached his table pretending to pass by by chance.
-Oh?. Dan?, Noemí?.
-Hello Josías- Noemí greets him with a smile.
Dan rolls his eyes when he hears his voice.
-Hello... Josi, weren't you with Brandon and Jhonatan?.
-Yeah but I felt like going to the bathroom. And didn't you go to the bathroom too?.
-Ah, well I ran into Noemí and stayed to talk to her.
-I see, Noemí did you come to the library alone?.
-No, I came with my friends Emily and Sofía.
Josías thinks for a moment.
-Emily... Emily...- He blushes a little.
Dan looks at Josías, thinking he'd forgotten who she was.
-Emily, the council president, the silly one.
-Yes, I know who she is. So you're friends with them?.
-Yes, But they've been taking a while.
In the bathroom Emily finally gets out after the cleaner helps her. Emily was blushing with embarrassment but then she leaves to go back to Noemí.
Sofía, tired of waiting, finally gets her turn.
-Three... Three special bags of candy... Please.
Emily arrives with Noemí.
-Oh, Hi Dan. Hi Josías.
When Josías sees her he blushes and looks away.
-Hello...
-Why did you take so long?- Noemí asks.
-I'll tell you later.
Josías can't help but glance at Emily, Emily notices this.
-What's wrong Josías?, Did this beauty make you fall in love?- She says smugly.
Dan laughs at her words, which makes Emily angry and she grabs him by the neck though not hard.
-Damn it, don't laugh.
-Oh, sorry But we have to go now, the others are waiting for us.- Josías says then grabs Dan by his shirt and drags him away.
-Wait no, I don't want to leave yet- He tries to break free But Josías pulls him along.
-Goodbye guys- Emily exclaims.
Sofía arrives with the candy bags.
-Huh? Who were those?- She asks seeing the guys walking away.
-They were Dan and Josías, they were in the library.
Emily grabs her backpack and puts her things away.
-Well, enough studying for today, let's go.
-WHAT?!, I just got here with the candy!- Sofía exclaims.
-We'll eat them on the way home, don't worry- Noemí says as she also puts her things away.
The guys also got ready to leave, thus ending the study day. On the way home Noemí and Dan walked with a slight smile.
