Chapter 1 - The Tower

Tap tap tap....

Tap tap tap....

*Sound of door creaking*

"Anyone here? Oh, Princess! I've come to save you- aaa!"

The man barely dodged the massive fireball coming straight at him the moment he entered. The fireball struck the door behind him, setting it on fire.

"Yah! Hot!"

The man put down the fire on his shoulder that was caused by the fireball grazing his shoulder.

"Who are you?"

The one who shoot the massive fireball previously was the young woman standing in front of the man.

"Hey, Princess! I've come to save you, but why and for what reason did you do just that- aaa!"

The man jolted a bit, as if been struck by a lightning.

"Impressive, you're not dead immediately after been struck by my lightning."

"Oi! Don't do that!"

The "princess" put down her index finger she was previously pointed at the man and took a sit on the chair behind her.

"I'm sorry for the previous "accident", dear stranger."

The man let out a sigh and massaged his shoulder and cracked his neck.

"Are you the princess? Because I was sure that in the bards story, the princess isn't a witch blasting magic on people when they first met. And that wasn't an accident! You're literally trying to kill me the time I entered your room!"

The "princess" only chuckled at the man's commentary.

"That's right, I am a princess of this tower. And also a witch. My name is Isaiah Isabella Bizantien, daughter of the King Vinzacy, the very person that put me in this tower. You may call me Isaiah or Isabella."

"Then let me introduce myself. I'm the very brave mercenary who conquered this tower, from the bottom to the top, Aitofel! That's right, I cleared this tower in one go~"

Aitofel closed his eyes and rubbed the spot between his nose and mouth with face full of pride.

Aitofel approached Isaiah and offered his hand, but Isaiah only looked at his hand with a face full of confusion.

"What are you trying to do?"

"Huh? You don't know what a handshake is?"

"You don't want to touch me."

"What if I touch you then- AAA!"

Once again, Aitofel were electrocuted suddenly when he grabbed Isaiah right hands. He rubbed his hands and looked at Isaiah warily.

"Why did you do that?!"

"Oh sorry, that was an accident."

"You tell me that was another "accident"?!"

Isaiah chuckled after looking Aitofel cautious face. She took off her right glove that has a runic marking on it and put it on the table beside her.

"It's not going to electrocute you again, see?"

Aitofel took a glance on the glove Isaiah just took off.

"Yeah, no need for another handshake, I can't predict you lady."

"So, what does a cowardly mercenary such as you wanted in this very tower, I suppose?"

Isaiah took a pair of wooden mug and grabbed a fancy kettle and pour it onto the mug, revealing a yellow liquid with a fragrant smell.

She offered Aitofel the mysterious drink which Aitofel looked at with a cautious face. He drank it a second after inspecting that there's nothing suspicious about the drink.

"So, what I want is, *sluurrp*, ahh... Can you give me money?"

After looking at Aitofel who drank it a few times with no hesitation and with bliss, she smiled mischieviously at him.

"Are you not curious about what this drink is?"

"What about it?"

"That's my xxxx"

Look of horror appeared on Aitofel's face and he throw the mug outside the window and started to throw up on the window.

"What the hell did you just made me drink?!"

"Ahahahahahahahahahaha!!"

Isaiah started to laugh uncontrollably, she wiped her tears and started to calm herself down.

"Ah, human. This is the first time someone fall to my pranks twice. Very well, I'll grant your wishes as a thanks for making me laugh twice in a day."

"Really?!"

Isaiah went to a chest and opened it. She rummaged through the chest like a trashcan and finally found a shiny item.

Its a gold.

"Here."

"Thank you, oh Princess Isaiah!"

Aitofel greedily took the gold and head outside, finishing his business with the tower.

"Be careful with P-"

Not even gave Isaiah a second to tell him about something, Aitofel walked downstairs and descended the tower.

"...."

She turned around and equipped her glove again and face a glass orb.

"I think Little Pride is still alive."

The scene changes to when Aitofel descended to the Pride floor.

The floor were filled with corpse of mercenaries and royal knight.

And the corpse of the fatass that hired him and the other mercenaries were here as well.

"How pathetic and undignified you are, for stealing that royal knight credit and attack me while I'm weak after that fight."

"Ah?"

He suddenly saw his body standing rigid and saw the ceiling.

12 hour after that....

"Lady Isaiah, why did you revive this Human? They raided the tower and killed our minions, we should have leave him be, tormented by Thanates. And he's also a coward who took all the credit while the other Humans are fighting to their death."

Isaiah only shrugged at the blonde haired woman comment and continue reading her book. She took a glance on her bed and saw Aitofel, who is still in deep slumber.

"No matter. He will become a useful puppet to me. I can just dispose of him when he has no more uses."

The blonde haired woman then shook her head with an expression of defeat and left the room.

Just then, Aitofel opened his eyes. He looked around him and saw Isaiah sitting on the same seat when he first met her.

"What happened, Isaiah?"

Chop

A moment of sting, Aitofel looked at the source of pain and saw his right hand were detached.

"GAAAAAAAAHHH!!"

"From now on, you will address me with formality. Call me with my title. Do you comprehend?"

"What are you talking ab- GAAAAHHH!!"

Aitofel touched the edge of his detached right leg with his remaining arm and flinch with a great pain, his suffering is evident in his expression.

"I'll cut your left arm and left leg as well if you don't answer my question the way I wanted."

"For what reason did you come to climb this tower? Who hired you?"

"Panting... I was hired by that fatty who led a group of mercenaries and royal knights. Gkh, graahh... The fatty hired us to assisst him on climbing the tower to reclaim you- Princess Isaiah. I accepted the job because I thought it would be an easy money and I was right, those mercenaries and royal knights were strong, I ended up doing nothing throughout the raid. But all of them die one by one upon climbing the tower floor, to the point when me, that fatty, and this guy with his remaining friends reached the last floor, pride, he used that fatty and his friends as a bait to kill pride. But he- GAAAAAH!!"

Aitofel saw his left arm flying across the room due to being detached so suddenly.

"You're talking too much."

"Aren't you the one that wanted me to- GOD THAT WAS THE LAST ONE!!"

Aitofel last remaining limbs was then crushed under great pressure, not detaches, but crushed. The pain felt as if he was being tortured many times by stubbing his toe on one of a table legs, but much worse. If stubbing a toe only affect the toe, this affect the entire leg.

"Don't make a question, because I'm the one who ask."

The room turned silent a little bit with only the sound of Aitofel muffling with pain.

"Last question. If you were to get out of here alive, what would you do?"

Aitofel fell into a deep thought, he previously wanted to sell the gold he got from Isaiah and live a peaceful live, but after experiencing THIS, he doesn't care about money anymore, he just want to rest and hope this is just a dream.

"At first I wanted to sell the gold you gave me and live a peaceful live with the money, but after this, I just want to rest and woke up knowing this is just a dream."

He stopped for a few second before opening his mouth.

"This is a dream, right?"

Then he fainted.

"Oh my, it seems I pushed him too far."

"Well, whatever."

12 hours later....

"Woah?!"

Aitofel woke up and oberserved his surrounding. He saw Isaiah and started to becone more cautious. He then felt something strange, his limbs were attached again and his left leg were repaired.

"...."

Aitofel then thanked god deep inside his heart for turning that experience into a dream and not a reality. He doesn't know what he can do with no limbs left in his life if that were to happen.

Isaiah turned around and looked at Aitofel. She smiled at him mischieviously.

"Don't worry, last night was a reality and you healed."

"Oh... Thank you, Princess?"

Aitofel climbed down the bed and check if he was still dreaming by pinching his cheek.

"It hurts."

"Of course its hurt. This is reality after all."

"If you were still a human, that night would be your second death."

"Wait, what do you mean by "still a human"?"

"It means that you were no longer a human. You are now a full blood vampire."

....

Aitofel raised his hands and looked at his skin, who were now turned to pale. He looked at a mirror and opened his mouth wide only to reveal his four fangs, who were now sharper.

He just realized now that he has a better vision compared from before.

"Isaiah Isabella is not my real front and middle name."

"Isaiah" stood up from her chair and looked at Aitofel.

"Allow me to introduce my real name. I am Lilith Draculina Bizantien. I'm a vampire and I'm the one who resurrected you into a vampire."

Despite introducing herself and acting more friendly, Aitofel seems to be still cautious when looking at her.

"Is the warning still applies?"

"Fufufu, nope. Not anymore. Rest assured, I won't harm you again. You may address me however you like, as long as its polite."

Hearing her says that made Aitofel let out a sigh of relief. Then he realized, that he didn't wear anything except for his underwear.

"Where's my clothes?!"

"They're right outside...."

"Be right back! I may be a coward and undignified mercenary, but I won't let my self be seen naked by a woman, not to someone I don't love!"

A bit later....

After Aitofel done with dressing himself up, he returned to Lilith's room with his attire.

"Let me tell you something, Aitofel."

"I'm all ears."

"...You're quite calm for someone that just went through a really painful torture 12 hours ago."

Aitofel shrugged, "Eh... Whatever happens, happens, I think this is my karma for hiding during the raid and taking the credits. I'm already used to this kinds of situation, but not as bad as this."

Lilith chuckled, "Well, whatever."

"From now on, you're my slave."

....

"For real?"

Lilith nodded with a smile, "For real, indeed."

"And I want you to do something as my slave. And that is become a wanderer and reach for the heavenly tree to wait for the Eden's Apple and spread the word about the Tower so I can harvest souls and become stronger while also help defending the tower from raids when I call you."

"Heavenly tree?! That's really far away from here! Do you know how long it took for me and the other mercenaries and royal knight have to reach this Tower? A whole week! And we...."

Aitofel stopped and closed his mouth when he looked at Lilith cold glare. He scratches his head and his tone smaller.

"Sorry, I'll stop now."

Lilith smiled, "Good, good. Do you have any question?"

"I have a question. Can I ask?"

"Sure, ask."

"How do I defend the tower if I'm away? I can't possibly run back from a faraway and defend the tower, am I right?"

"Don't worry, I can teleport you to the tower."

"Okay then."

"Do you have another question?"

"Why do you need the Eden's Apple? And for the apple to sprout, doesn't it took 3,000 years?"

"Let's keep it a secret."

"Okay then."

"Good, before you start your journey, you have to be acquainted with the other inhabitant of this Tower! They will lend your power when you need it."

Lilith snapped her finger and suddenly, Aitofel were sliding and exiting her room smoothly.

"I just have to introduce myself to others, right?"

Aitofel tries to speak through the door, but no response were given.

"Sigh... Whatever happens, happens, eh? Fate certainly is crazy for dropping me in this situation."
