{Alex POV}
I assumed I was dead until I realised I was still able to think and breath, well breathing wouldn't quite be the word. I couldn't feel my body so my first thought was that I lived but was paralyzed.
After a few minutes I realised though that I'm not really breathing or feeling any sort of pain, let alone feeling my body at all.
I tried to open my eyes to see what was going on and as one would expect, all I could see was darkness, this made me panic a little thinking I had gone blind, but then I realised 'Wait, If I'm not breathing or feeling my body, but can't see anything then that only leaves a few options. First is that I'm a soul right now and not able to properly perceive things, The second is that I'm already in the afterlife and waiting to be placed or judged. Honestly though it could be something different like I'm just waiting to be summoned and judged for my sins'
After waiting what could have easily been considered years as time seems to function differently here, I saw, well perceived more like, a blinding white light which seemed to instantly clear away all the darkness, leaving me standing or floating in front of a shining gold light, feeling a suffocating like aura which makes me subconsciously want to bow down in reverence.
The being at that moment seemed to realise as suddenly the aura and pressure were gone, letting me breath a sigh of relief 'Breathing a sigh of relief though mentally seems as I can't breath I guess?'
The being seemed to smile at me as if knowing exactly what I was thinking
"Indeed I can tell what you're thinking Alexander" The being replied in a voice which seemed like a choir was speaking to me in an ethereal tone
'Wait what? like mind reading type stuff?' I thought seems as I tried to speak and it came as a thought instead
"Indeed I suppose you could call it that" The being replied to me in that same ethereal like tone
'Well damn.'
"Indeed, however I had a reason for bringing you here and on my part I must apologise to you for the manner in which as you might have guessed, died"
I was a bit shocked at that statement as a being practically the same as a god was apologising to me
'Well fuck. I was hoping I hadn't died but I guess that makes sense seems as we're in this place' I thought, looking around at the now pure white room which was weirdly empty besides an old 90s type brick TV, a small wooden coffee table, an arm chair and a lamp.
"I am afraid you are indeed dead and from your thoughts you seem to like my room, I'm glad."
'Well yeah, it's cool I guess? I'm confused why I'm here though, shouldn't I be like dead?'
"At the moment you're in what us deities would call a static state. You're effectively in-between death and reincarnation or destruction. I say destruction because if your soul is judged to not be allowed reincarnation, the only alternative is to be destroyed. "
'Damn that's totally not scary at all man' I couldn't help thinking as I felt a cold shiver somehow?
"I apologise for phrasing it in such a scary manner, however let us get back to the topic at hand"
'Alright, what's going on?'
"At the moment you are in the place called 'the observation realm' which is where I watch over the planets under my control. My name is Michael and I am the God of Creation and Life for earths 9918-1, 9918-2, 9919-1 and 9919-2. The world of which you have come from was 9919-2 also known as a normal earth."
'Whoa that seems like a lot to comprehend, I'm literally talking to a god.'
"Haha, I can understand the issue as I myself was in your shoes at one time. But we are getting side tracked so let us get back to the topic of why I brought you here."
"I brought you to the observation realm in order to apologise to you as quite frankly, it was my fault that you died when you did, instead of at the correct time. So due to that mess up on my part I have decided to allow you to reincarnate into a world of your choosing. It can be any from a movie, tv series, anime etc from your life, the choice is yours. I will also provide you with some incentives upon arriving in that world so that your life is a long and fulfilling one."
'WHOA! I GET TO GO WHEREVER I WANT?' I couldn't help getting excited as I could go anywhere I wanted. 'Where should I go? Marvel? Harry Potter? Star Wars? An anime?'
The god chuckled at me for a moment before replying "Indeed my child as It was my fault for your untimely demise, I will allow you to choose a world of your choice, but be warned you may not arrive in the time you wish as I cannot willingly decide that for you, only the world you go to."
'Alright, I understand. So I could go to Marvel for example but turn up right as the purple giant is killing everyone'
"That is correct so I would suggest you take a moment to decide-"
I cut him off before he could finish and said in my mind 'I've chosen, I want to go to the Harry Potter world please'
The god seemed surprised I had chosen so quickly but he composed himself and replied "Very well, I hope you do not grow to regret this choice. I hope you have a filling and enjoyful life in your new world"
I promptly bowed to the deity and said my thanks before my vision once again turned black...
