"That's no water dinosaur," Anna said.
A small pair of eyes was staring at them from within the depths of the river. It was easy to confuse it as an aquatic creature, but Anna knew better. She knew that fully aquatic animals didn't usually poke their head out of the water, not unless the water was very shallow, which in this case, it was not. The river was several meters deep.
If this dinosaur was keeping its head out of the water, it was because it had to. It had to breathe, and it had likely been on the hunt for fish and such before she and Gaark caught its attention.
"Grab your spear," She kept her voice low, "And slowly back away. We can't risk fighting this bastard now, we don't have Jimmy to heal us if shit hits the fan."
"Shit hits the fan…" He repeated, and then he whispered, "What are you saying…?"
