Ray was dead.
In the middle of the river, faced with a wall expanding as far as the eye could see, Ray breathed heavily.
When he traveled through time, he had the same feeling as the feeling that he got from the river; everything he did, he couldn't step back from.
"If this is the river of time, my only way is forward, but that wall can only mean one thing: my death."
Ray stayed calm even with the dire situation; his distance from the wall was still around twenty meters. Who knew how much time that distance meant in real life?
"It's equal to three months; in 81 days you will die." The sound came from the wall itself; it seemed more ancient than anything that Ray had ever encountered.
He sensed the danger in the voice. Ray never believed in a preplanned future, but something was different; in two months when the impact starts, he should be in the heart of danger.
"I don't believe in fate." Ray said after a second thought.
The voice answered him: "There is no fate; if you can count millions of possibilities, then you will reach a point that possibilities will reach certainty. That's how I know you will die on that day."
"What is it that you want? If you pulled me in here, it means you already know I'm not scared of my death." Ray pointed at the sky. "And I'm not interested in any of this bullshit to sell you my soul."
"Hahaa. Interesting, but no. I just want to give you a reason. All you desire is power, but what are you going to do with it?" The voice maxed to check Ray's expression, but no change was made, so it continued: "What if I tell you you can destroy this wall completely, becoming a true Immortal?"
Ray had thought about that matter over his life many times, and he responded with no hesitation: "I refuse."
"But isn't being the strongest what you desire?"
"Yes, but what gives meaning to my whole life is death; any fight gives me a thrill because my life is on the line. Without death, I will just be a lifeless creature."
"You will regret your answer." Before Ray could answer more questions, he had been thrown out of the river to the real world.
His eyes slowly opened to see the ceiling of his bedroom. With his stats gone, the pain almost had killed him, but his burns seemed to be a lot better.
"At her core, Marian should be support; her healing and lending base stats are not normal abilities. Thank god I have her on my side."
All of his body hurt still, but not to a point that it could hurt him, but he decided to stay on the bed. Usually in such cases, the one with the lent points could get high levels of mental illnesses from their body not being in balance, but for Ray, he exactly knew what was going on.
He stayed awake four hours, thinking about the strange thing that had happened. Even though he had a big chance of dying, was it inevitable?
"First the system, now this. Famine might know something, but now, I will be under full watch for two months at least."
"Hi."
Even turning his head seemed painful, but Ray recognized her even before seeing her, tall with grey hair and wearing only a white shirt?
"Oh, sorry, I had to change clothes, and there was no time to buy, so I just picked up your shirt for now." Alexandria said as she sat beside him.
"If you want the women's clothing, it's on floor 94, but you look astonishing anyway." Suddenly Ray realized he was fully naked, and since he had a thing for women with men's clothing, her member slowly started to react.
"It's fine; we should find a base as soon as possible."
He offered the last nail in the coffin: "I can help you with your financial problems if you want."
"You have already helped enough; how are you even?"
Ray closed his eyes. "My mind seems so far away and so close at the same time; my body is as you can see."
Alexanderia inspected his body; all of his burns were covered with thin red skin, until her eyes fell on his half-erect member.
"Another question: why did you put your life in danger? Don't say something like for the good of people."
"I thought you already knew the answer; the only reason I did it was because of you." Ray stared into her eyes.
Deep down she knew the answer too but wanted to ignore it as long as possible. Unlike Ray, she barely had any partners; her last partner was 100 years ago.
"Was that a confession?"
"I think."
Alexanderia moved her hand on his chest; the warmth of his body collided with her cold hand. "What happens if I say yes? When you are finished with me, will you go after your other women to sleep with them?"
The point that Ray had awaited for so long had come; not all people were okay with sharing their partners with others. Ray had already decided on what to say: "See my lust system."
As he showed his system, she had to show it too.

"She has only one kink? Or perhaps she hasn't discovered the rest of them."
Alexanderia said with a faint smile, "Harems, huh? I might agree, but only with one condition."
Ray waited for her with a curious face.
"I will be your first woman at all times; if anyone else wants to spend time with you, they should get their permission from me first. Unless you want them at that moment." Her eyes shone with a new light.
"It's fine, but why the sudden change?"
Something got shown to his mind.

"It seems luck is on my side."
"I would say it was fate for us to see each other..."
Fate made his mind return to the prior event with the river of time, but soon his mind went numb as Alexandria towered on his body.
Their lips met in a deep, passionate kiss.
Alexanderia trailed her fingers on his cheeks. "Can your body handle it?"
"Even if I die during the process, I wouldn't have an objection."
Alexanderia's smile grew wider as they kissed again.
