"That's me," Kairo said calmly. He was mostly full—he hadn't done much, plus he had spent plenty of time gathering info.
"Ussop, how's it going?" He said, looking at the liar.
"Well of course, I, being the genius that I am, have already mastered everything you taught me." The lie came out as smoothly as he breathed.
"Hm... if that's true, maybe we should test it out. Let you hit a target you can't see."
"How the hell am I supposed to do that?!" The long-nosed liar didn't seem too happy.
"Observation Haki. God-tier snipers can hit stuff from islands away. I'm sure a man such as you, who led over eight thousand men, can do that."
Ussop swallowed his saliva. Shit, he was caught in his own lie.
"I refuse."
"And why is that?"
"My brilliance may make everyone jealous of their slow progress. I, God D. Ussop, refuse to let my friends feel left behind!" The lie came out so quickly.
"You're so cool!" Chopper seemed to really buy it. He was the only one though.
Kairo didn't look like he bought it.
"Doesn't seem half wrong. You are a sniper. Apart from Sanji, your Observation Haki should level up quickly," Kairo said.
"Oh, so you know about Haki?" Ace asked, looking at Kairo.
"Well, without Haki, I can't really do any of my ninja techniques, so it's a bare minimum requirement."
This got Ace intrigued. He wanted to see what kind of ability Kairo had.
"Oh? Mind if I see them?"
"Only if you prove you can take them."
Ace smiled.
Luffy seemed happy. Oh well. Roughly five minutes later, they were quite a distance away. Everyone else was very far, watching from a dune looking down at the fight. Couldn't be that bad.
Luffy was cheering on both his big brother and the ninja at the same time. The hell? Something about him wanting to beat his brother yet still cheer on his nakama. The hell was wrong with this guy?
Anyway, time to get ready.
Zoro also wanted to see how the fight played out. So far, every time they fought Kairo, he was clearly holding back, barely using his weapons most of the time. So he wanted to see if a commander of the Whitebeard Pirates would force him to use more power.
"We can start whenever you're ready."
As those words left Ace's mouth, Kairo smiled. He started off by dashing toward Ace at full speed.
Ace jumped into the sky, his fingers seemingly turning into guns as he shot down dozens of fireflies, which exploded the second they touched the ground.
"You'll have to try harder than that, ninja!"
"I know." The voice came from behind Ace, causing his eyes to widen. When the fuck did Kairo get behind him?
A spinning ball of Haki could be seen forming in Kairo's hand.
Ace barely had time to move before a Rasengan was grinded into his back, sending him skidding across the sand.
He went flying into a dune.
BOOM
"WAAA?!" Ussop jumped back. He could feel the power behind that attack—if that shit hit him, he'd be dead. Damn, that was deadly.
Ace came out of the dunes, some blood on his lips.
"You pack a punch."
"So I've heard," Kairo replied.
'I gotta get serious. This guy is seriously strong.' That one attack told Ace everything. Time not to hold back.
Ace summoned a huge fireball and launched it at Kairo.
Kairo went through some hand seals.
"Water Style: Water Wave!"
As those words left his mouth, a huge torrent of water rushed forward to meet the flames in the middle.
Ace's brow furrowed. Wait, what the hell—jutsu? Was that Fishman Karate? It felt similar, yet different. The water felt like Haki and something else.
He didn't get time to think, jumping into the air to avoid the attack.
"Missed me!" he teased.
Kairo grinned.
Coming from the water was another Kairo.
"Water Style: Water Bullet!"
Twenty or so bullets fired from his mouth, moving faster than real bullets.
Ace's Observation Haki kicked in. He avoided the water attack, but his gaze left Kairo for even a second—
His instincts flared. He ducked back, avoiding a kunai that nearly sliced him.
BAM
Ace's body slammed into the ground, going 20 feet deep into the sand. Kairo was in the air, wings still deployed, his fist crackling with an odd energy—this was a Ryo Conqueror-infused Haki punch.
Internal damage and Conqueror Haki-infused—TLDR: bad news.
To an off-guard Ace.
Ace lay in the sand, head spinning. That punch hurt like a motherfucker.
As he got up, coughing blood, he felt the cold gleam of a kunai against his throat.
"Do you give up?"
Ace froze. ...When the fuck did he get behind him? His Observation Haki didn't pick up shit. Though from this clash, Ace realized—they were roughly in the same strength tier. The only reason this fight seemed so one-sided was because of Kairo's damn hax. The fact he could somewhat turn off or ignore someone's Observation Haki was annoying. And when he teleported, he just vanished from Ace's senses.
And those water bullets—annoying as fuck. TLDR: he was more haxed.
"Yeah."
Kairo lowered his weapon, sheathing his blade. Good.
He thought he did well for his first ever mission.
Nami was currently wondering if Kairo was some sort of monster. The fuck did she just witness? All of this was possible with simply Haki—and Haki alone? The fuck was this—One Piece Shippuden?
A/N all of his skill can be replicated, all of them, they can be taught, at the end of the day all he is using is haki and haki alone.
