Alpha Mason has thrown me out of sparring class four times this week. Each dismissal burns deeper than the last, fueling a rage that threatens to consume me whole.
I tried reaching Alpha Irina's office yesterday, but angry voices echoed through her closed door. Whatever battle she was fighting, I decided not to interrupt. Now I'm hoping Friday will give me another chance to speak with her, or I'll be stuck waiting until Monday.
The pattern is becoming crystal clear. Gerry is pulling strings behind the scenes, paying Alpha Mason to destroy me. It's the only explanation that makes sense. Sure, Mason never liked me, but ever since I beat Gerry bloody last weekend, the instructor has been hunting me like prey.
This morning unfolds exactly like the others. Warrior Meryl pairs me with Faith, but Alpha Mason swoops in immediately, forcing me to face Mya, one of Glenda's loyal followers.
Alpha Irina steps forward to intervene, but Alpha Mason's snarl stops her cold.
