Henderson's POV
Consciousness returns slowly, bringing with it a pounding headache that makes my skull feel like it might split apart. Blood trickles down my face, stinging my eyes when I try to open them. Voices echo around me, harsh and demanding, making the pain in my head spike with each word.
Kain, I reach out desperately to my wolf.
I am here, though barely. My strength is nearly gone, she whispers back weakly.
Do you know where they brought us?
The scent tells me everything. Two Alphas argue above us, neither familiar. This must be their territory. One is Alpha Shepherd, the one who captured us.
"Tell me Percy is dead," one of the Alphas snarls with vicious satisfaction. "Tell me you did not take his Luna and leave that bastard breathing."
Kain, we have to escape immediately! We have to reach Percy first! Terror claws at my insides. Despite all our recent conflicts and misunderstandings, my love for him burns fierce and unshakeable. I will not allow anyone to harm him.
