Henderson's POV
After Percy walked out, my mother fussed over me while muttering under her breath about my mate. Once she finished arranging my pillows, she turned her full attention to me.
"How are you holding up? Any word from Kain?"
"She's stirring a little, but barely. We're both still pretty weak," I admitted.
"You bled heavily, so that's normal. Kain is probably being protective, making sure your baby stays safe and healthy."
I swallowed my bite of soup and studied my mother's face. "Since we're talking about babies, what's this about you wanting another one?"
Her expression softened, clearly lost in whatever conversation she'd had with Dad the night before.
