When I step back into the room, I immediately start questioning Olivia about her labor duration, whether she received prenatal care, and if she experienced any previous pregnancy losses.
"This is our first child, Luna. If you cannot save both of them, please prioritize my mate. I can give her another baby, but losing her would destroy me," Hans pleads.
"I intend to save both," I respond firmly, inserting the IV into Olivia's arm and starting the drip before moving to prepare the ultrasound equipment.
"Let me examine what we're dealing with. Olivia, I understand you're experiencing severe pain, but I need to assess the situation." Hans grips her hand as she clenches her teeth against the agony.
The moment I glide the ultrasound wand across her abdomen, the problem becomes clear.
