Percy's POV
"What exactly do you want to know, Percy?" Alpha Joseph's voice carries a weight I've never heard before.
"Everything, I suppose. You mentioned my father pursued Luna Dorothy?" The question tastes bitter on my tongue.
Joseph releases a heavy breath. "Not initially. The day I ended his life, I told your father that under different circumstances, we might have been allies. Perhaps that's why I've worked so hard to build something with you. You share enough of his traits that we understand each other, yet you're different enough that we've never been enemies like he and I were. Despite all his wealth, and believe me it was substantial even then, he craved more. Nothing satisfied him. Pure avarice drove him. He didn't require my territory, but he coveted it. He didn't need Dorothy when he had your mother, but he desired her because he understood her power would amplify his own."
