Tonight marks the pack ceremony, and Emilia has finally agreed to become one of us. I'm thrilled knowing she feels safe enough to take this step. More than that, it gives me hope that she wants to stay here with me, that she accepts our mate bond.
We take several long walks around the territory before the festivities begin. She stays close but remains mostly silent, though she doesn't pull away when I steal quick kisses along the way.
When the ceremony starts, we stand together at the front of the gathered pack. As I step forward to renew my vows to Alpha Joseph and our ranked members, Emilia moves with me, her presence steady at my side.
Alpha Joseph and Beta Karl announce that Luna Dorothy and the Beta female are both expecting. The pack erupts in celebratory howls, and I join them, my voice carrying across the night air. But beside me, Emilia stays quiet, her body tense.
