Chapter 20 - Law Of Superiority

Outside the carriage, the ground was wet with blood.

Many bodies were lying on the dirt; men and women in silver armor who had once been the escort guards.

Their bodies were cut open with direct strikes, some from the back, some from the side. Among them were also the bodies of the barbarians; faces with eyes pushed out of their sockets, as if death had entered through them.

When the carriage door was torn off, several barbarians who were standing around it began laughing. Their laughs were loud, rough, and full of mockery.

"Haha! We finally caught you, bastard of the Vorhelms!"

"Look at him, all this trouble just for one kid!"

"If your father sees what we will do to you, he will cry!"

"You understand why you hear our name in your nightmares"

Reinh calmly stepped out of the carriage. His eyes moved over the barbarians.

Bare bodies, muscular and covered in scars. Their lower bodies were covered with animal skins; some were made from tiger skin.

A few of them wore helmets made from animal skulls, shaped like tigers and lions.

There was a reason their helmets were different. The barbarians without helmets were normal people. The ones with helmets could use mana.

"So you are the famous bastard." One barbarian stepped forward and looked closely at his face.

"Even if you are a bastard, your face looks exactly like those filthy Vorhelms." Another one laughed and spit hard on the ground.

"You know what we will do to you? We will make a statue from your skull and put it under our flag. So everyone who walks by will know what we do to the Vorhelms!" a third one said with a rough voice.

Reinh only looked at them. He did not feel anger or fear, only coldness.

"Idiots like you cannot even understand the situation." He said with a mocking tone.

Their faces darkened.

"Shut up!"

"How dare you call us idiots?!"

"We will make you regret it!"

"Before killing you we will torture you so much you will beg!"

"Go tie him up. We must leave before that woman comes back." one barbarian without a helmet stepped forward.

He meant Lina. Before attacking the convoy, they already knew that woman was the biggest danger in this mission.

So they created a plan and made her go after another group of barbarians. But before she returned, they had to leave fast.

'Now I understand why you call this group of humans barbarians. They're even dumber than the rest of them' Arceus said with a mocking tone as he lay stretched out on top of the carriage.

'They were raised in a place where the Law of Superiority dominates everything and there are no limits to violence. Naturally, this is the result' Rhine explained.

Barbarians aren't much different from the other humans of this world; their nature is the same. But the others still have some level of rationality and a few red lines. Barbarians have no rationality at all, they only follow the Law of Superiority.

"You even smell like those filthy Vorhelms." The barbarian got close to Reinh and sniffed.

"Are you a dog?" Reinh said without emotion.

The barbarian had not reacted yet when Reinh's hand moved up. And the barbarian's skull broke with a dry, brutal sound.

Bone exploded, brain matter splashed, and the body fell heavy on the ground.

Silence.

A few barbarians stepped back without thinking. Their eyes were wide. Then anger replaced their shock.

"Bastard!"

"You killed him!"

"Kill him!"

"Cut him into pieces!"

"I hope you know where Garush is." Reinh said calmly.

"Because until you answer, I am not killing you quickly." He did not expect to meet this group of barbarians here.

But now that he had this chance, he would use it well.

The name fell on the place like a heavy weight. The barbarians looked angry and a bit shocked. It was clear they did not understand how this kid knew the name of one of their leaders.

Reinh bent down and picked up one of the blood-covered swords from the ground. The blade was still warm.

And then he moved.

His first targets were the barbarians without helmets. His movements were fast, direct, and brutal. The sword went up under a rib. A neck opened. A throat was cut.

Blood sprayed.

Without stopping, he turned, pushed the blade into another barbarian's thigh, and before he could scream, Reinh cut his throat too. Bodies fell one after another.

"Stop him! Don't let him attack!"

"Attack him! Cut him apart!"

The mana-using barbarians stepped forward. Reinh stomped the ground, sending dirt into the air and blocking their sight. Before they could react…

The sword came out of the dust.

Screams mixed together. One barbarian attacked with an axe. The blade cut Reinh's shoulder, and blood flowed.

But Reinh didn't even blink.

With the same injured hand, he turned the sword and pushed the blade into the barbarian's neck up to the handle.

The barbarians' eyes filled with doubt.

"Why doesn't he react?"

"He doesn't feel pain?"

"Is he… is he really human?"

Then they noticed something else, Reinh's eyes were shining, not from fear but from pleasure…?

The barbarians were confused. Were they the wild barbarians, or was this child the real savage?

Each of Reinh's strikes became more accurate, more wild, more ruthless. The barbarians began to step back. But it was already too late, and soon all of them were dead.

All except one.

A barbarian wearing a lion-skull helmet, mana glowing around his body. His helmet showed he was a four-ring mana user, the only one among this group.

He and Reinh stood facing each other. The ground around them was filled with the bodies of his brothers.

"Bastard… you killed all my brothers!" the barbarian growled.

"You will pay for this, you filthy trash." He clenched his teeth.

Reinh raised the bloody sword and stared directly into his eyes.

"Do you know why you're still alive?".
