Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: Liu Family Hooligans

"Is the Holy Jade Snow Lotus and the Celestial Martial Divine Water hard to obtain, and which is more difficult compared to the Ice Flame Crystal needed to remove Lin Ruoxi's Vermilion Bird Mark?" Upon seeing hope, Chu Linfeng would not give up; becoming a strong martial artist is every martial artist's dream.

"They are about the same, so you should focus on improving your strength now. Without enough strength, even if these items are in front of you, you won't be able to obtain them!

I have already awakened and no longer need to absorb the Star Power in your body, which you can now fully absorb," Sword Spirit Yue'er revealed the truth.

Hearing this, Chu Linfeng finally understood why he couldn't absorb too much Star Power in the past two years, or rather, couldn't store Star Power in his body. The culprit turned out to be this Sword Spirit Yue'er.

"Damn it, I actually supported you for two years! Return the Star Power of these two years to me!" Chu Linfeng nearly lost his temper, realizing that being called a 'waste' was due to the Sword Spirit, feeling wronged for himself.

"Stop being so petty, it's just a little Star Power, no need to get so worked up!" Sword Spirit Yue'er didn't take Chu Linfeng's near tantrum to heart at all.

"You… you… never mind, I'll forgive you this time!" Chu Linfeng had no choice but to compromise, having no way to deal with Sword Spirit Yue'er.

Thinking of the Sword Spirit's vast abilities, he felt he was still in profit. It's just two years' worth of Star Power; he should be able to recover quickly with his talent now that he can fully absorb it.

Holding the Cyan Cool Sword in his hand, Chu Linfeng felt an indescribable sensation, now only hoping for the night to arrive quickly…

In the rear mountain of Liuyun City, a youth practiced ceaselessly with a long sword in his hand every day.

The surrounding trees had long become fragmented, "Finally mastered the Sixth Form!" the youth exhaled a sigh of relief.

"Lin Feng, mastering the first six forms within two months and raising your level to the Fifth Level of Black Tortoise Realm should satisfy you," a girl's voice echoed in his mind.

"Sister Yue'Er, but why can't I form the Earth Star Pill within me? Didn't you say back then that I would receive immense benefits like Ruoxi? Why haven't I felt them?"

The youth murmured to himself, his expression natural, yet his eyes revealed a chilling gaze.

This youth was Chu Linfeng, who had obtained the Mid Profound Tier Martial Skill from the Library Pavilion. After two months of day and night practice, he had now broken through to the Fifth Level of Black Tortoise Realm.

"Once you break through the Sixth Layer, you can form the Earth Star Pill. With your current Star Power within this city's younger generation, you likely have no rival."

Chu Linfeng didn't have a Storage Belt, so he had to hold the Cyan Frost Sword in his hand, "It will take some time to break through the Sixth Layer, and the competition date of the family is drawing closer.

It's been a while since I last wandered around Liuyun City; I'll see if I can have the same fortune as last time."

The bustling streets of Liuyun City were still crowded with people, and Chu Linfeng looked at the Cyan Frost Sword in his hand with a smile, "I wonder how Brother Xue, Xue Jin Mountain, is doing now. I hope to see you at Celestial Martial Academy."

Just then, a commotion arose in front of Chu Linfeng, drawing in a crowd to the source of the noise.

The love for excitement seems to be a common habit among many, even Chu Linfeng was no exception, following the crowd in.

Upon seeing, it turned out that an old man was kneeling on the ground, desperately pleading with a youth similar in age to himself.

Chu Linfeng recognized the youth; he was Liu Mang, the second son of the Liu Family, a noble family rivaling the Chu Family.

Chu Linfeng knew a bit about Liu Mang, who usually enjoyed bullying the weak and flaunting his might on the streets of Liuyun City with impunity as no one dared intervene.

He often had a few strong followers with him; when trouble arose, they became his means to teach others a lesson.

Moreover, given the Liu Family's substantial wealth, many turned a blind eye, and even if the matter escalated, relief was scarce.

Chu Linfeng saw the old man begging relentlessly; traces of blood were visible at the corners of his mouth, the situation clearly turning violent.

"Young Master Liu, I beg you, return my Magic Beast Egg; I need it to afford medicine for my grandson, who has been bedridden for three days," the old man pleaded, kowtowing repeatedly.

"Old man, it's your fortune that our young master favors your item, don't be unwise, or you'll be dead!" one of Liu Mang's followers threatened.

"So this fellow robbed the old man's Magic Beast Egg, how unlucky to encounter such a rogue; he's infamous as a man of the 'three nots,'" someone in the crowd commented.

Chu Linfeng was perplexed, unfamiliar with the term 'three nots.'

Just then, a person nearby whispered to another, "What are the 'three nots'?"

Chu Linfeng listened in keenly, "The so-called 'three nots' means not paying for what he buys, not paying for what he eats, and not caring whom he robs."

Chu Linfeng was secretly shocked after listening, realizing how far this fellow had fallen into depravity over the past two years, a complete thug whom he greatly despised.

This fellow even had the heart to rob the item the old man intended to sell for his grandson's medicine; what a cold-blooded bastard, indeed.

Liu Mang and his men felt quite prideful seeing more and more spectators gathered, and with no one daring to intervene, it seemed that his reputation indeed preceded him.

The old man, seeing his pleas were in vain, stood up, angrily grabbing Liu Mang by the clothing, "If you don't return my Magic Beast Egg today, I won't let you leave."

"Remove your filthy hands; this noble garment isn't something you could afford to compensate for!" A follower saw the old man grabbing Liu Mang and without further ado threw him a few meters away.

The direction in which the old man fell was exactly where Chu Linfeng stood. While others stepped back seeing the old man's plight, Chu Linfeng stepped forward quickly to catch him.

Seeing the old man's painful expression, Chu Linfeng noticed that his scapula had been shattered, and a surge of fury welled within him.

"Old man, rest here, I will seek justice for you!" Chu Linfeng stated and walked towards the follower who had thrown the old man.

"I wondered who dared meddle in my affairs, turns out it's the Chu family's waste; do you think you're worthy?" Liu Mang recognized Chu Linfeng and was quite displeased that he dared to help the old man.

"Whether I'm worthy isn't for you to decide!" As Chu Linfeng finished speaking, he dashed forward, his fist infused with Star Power, targeting the Liu Mang follower closest to him.

His speed was such that the follower had no time to react before Chu Linfeng's fist landed on him, triggering a wailing sound like a butchered pig on the street.

This punch from Chu Linfeng seemed simple, but it was filled with hatred, breaking three of the follower's ribs, making it difficult not to scream in pain.

"Chu Linfeng, you have guts to harm my men; today even if the Emperor comes, he can't save you!" Liu Mang shouted in anger, seeing his man injured by Chu Linfeng.

In his memory, no one dared to act like this; he had forgotten that even a so-called waste could knock down someone at the Fourth Level of Black Tortoise Realm with a single punch.

"You really live up to your name, Liu Mang; I wonder what your father was thinking. Did he see you as destined to be a rogue, and thus named you so?" Chu Linfeng remarked calmly.

As for Liu Mang's followers, he didn't regard them at all, let alone Liu Mang himself, who hadn't even reached the threshold of the Black Tortoise Realm.

"All of you, get him, today he must die; whoever finishes him off first will be rewarded a hundred Spirit Stones," Liu Mang's voice bellowed.
