Aeron's eyes shot open as he heard shouts.
"WAKE UP! EVERYONE! WAKE UP!"
Aeron was shocked as he looked around.
Everything was on fire!
The grand wooden wall that protected the village was burning!
Aeron sprang up on his feet and jumped high with his full power, shooting upward and landing on a branch of the village tree seventy meters high.
"Everyone! Stay calm! Our warriors are checking the way out!" the village chief shouted, his voice enhanced by magic.
"CHIEF!"
Aeron frowned as he looked at the village entrance. His eyesight was a hundred times better than a normal human's, so he could see it clearly despite the distance.
The gate was open.
And the person who had just returned was the leader of the hunters, Borkun.
His arms were chopped off, and he was bloodied, with his legs burning.
"CHIEF! RUN!"
'Enemy!' Aeron's eyes shook. There were people outside. He couldn't see them from there, but there were definitely people outside, judging by how Borkun's arms were chopped off.
Swoosh!
A spear came hurling and pierced Borkun's chest as he fell.
The village chief could also see, though not as clearly as Aeron, as his stats were not that high.
However, his heart turned cold as he saw Borkun dying.
Aeron arrived next to him. "What's going on? Who is attacking?"
"It's… It's B-Boryan Kingdom. But why do they want to kill us?"
Aeron summoned his servant, the three-headed warhog, and sat on it before commanding it to jump over the wall at the back.
"I'll check out the situation. But if you want to survive, then gather the people and start digging. They are not coming inside, so this is a chance."
Aeron left like a gust of wind and soon jumped over the burning wall as he got out.
But there were already people there, clad in armor and wielding swords, spears, and bows!
As soon as they saw Aeron, all of them shook and became alert, while one of them shouted at the top of his lungs.
"HARBINGER IS HERE! HARBINGER IS HERE!"
'What?' Aeron frowned.
"ATTACK!"
All of them rushed him with crazed, murderous intent.
Without hesitation, he told the warhog to jump and got back into the village.
He rushed to the village chief, who was telling everyone to start digging.
"Chief, the people have surrounded the village. The only way out is by digging."
Getting off the warhog, he commanded it to start digging using its skill and the large tusks of its three heads.
"Let my servant monster dig first."
The villagers were shocked and scared at first, but seeing the monster digging powerfully and very quickly, they calmed down.
"Thank you." The village chief looked at Aeron emotionally.
Aeron shook his head. "It's what I should do. But why are they attacking us? And when I went outside, all of them shouted 'Harbinger' at me."
But as soon as Aeron finished speaking, he saw the village chief's pupils shrinking rapidly, his face turning pale.
"H-Harbinger?" The village chief took steps back, moving away from Aeron. "You are a harbinger…"
"That's why they attacked us…"
His knees weakened as he fell. "You tainted us, so they will kill us."
"It's over. We cannot escape."
Aeron frowned. "What? What do you mean? I don't understand."
The village chief looked at him, his eyes filled with despair. "Harbingers… they are people who threaten the power of Almighty Raal and his empire that rules this world."
"AAAAAAAAHH! L-LOOK UP!"
Someone shouted loudly in panic.
The sky was filled with arrows. Over a hundred arrows rained down on the tree under which most people were staying.
The warhog was digging behind the tree, with the hunters behind it, working to dig out the tunnel.
The tree blocked most of the arrows, and the few arrows that went through the gaps didn't hit anyone.
However, the small flames suddenly burst into large flames as the tree began burning.
"Shit!" Aeron cursed. Another rain of arrows was already on the way!
"GO INTO THE TUNNEL!" Aeron shouted. "FAST!"
"We can never escape…" The village chief looked at Aeron. "They will not stop until everyone you come into contact with and talk to is dead."
"Why?!" Aeron clenched his fist. "What the fuck is this Raal's problem?!"
"I don't know…"
Aeron's jaw clenched in anger. "You go! I will make sure that none of the people who came here can follow you."
"I promise you, no one will find you! My pet is drilling a tunnel fast, so you will escape! Go!"
After saying that, Aeron jumped with his full strength in an arc, crossing over two hundred meters before landing in front of the village gate.
A card flickered into existence and turned into a machine gun in his hand.
Despair Bullets loaded.
Despair Bullet: Decreases the target's defense by 1% per bullet for 1 second. If 100 bullets strike a single target, your overall defense increases by 100% of the target's defense.
Aeron walked out of the gate and saw an army.
Two chariots, with two powerful auras on each, a cavalry with spears and swords, and archers behind them.
One of the two people on the chariot narrowed his eyes and spoke. "Harbinger. Death is the final outcome for you."
Aeron aimed at the man and unleashed Despair Bullets.
Nobody could react as all one hundred bullets struck the man.
But they did no damage.
Despair Bullets didn't deal any damage, but decreased defense by 100%, while increasing Aeron's own defense by 100%.
For a moment, the man on the chariot panicked, but seeing that nothing happened to him, he laughed.
"I heard harbingers were strong, but it seems this one is utterly weak."
"Surround him." The woman in the other chariot commanded as fifteen cavalry surrounded Aeron.
"The quicker you give up your life, the less painful it will be, you filthy harbinger."
