Goki could be absolutely certain that Yharnam was not Earth.
Although, in terms of setting, he was a Yharnam Hunter from another land, in essence, the moment he awoke, he was already within Yharnam's eternal nightmare.
He had never left the Yharnam region, never seen what lay beyond the Yharnam Hunter's world.
From the enormous, high-hanging moon in the sky, it was clear that the world Yharnam resided in was definitely unrelated to Earth.
But Terra... from what Goki knew of its setting, it was at least absolutely related to humans.
A once-advanced super-ancient civilization, where just a few percent of the power of a household medical device could provide all the energy for a gigantic mobile city.
With such technology, let alone a Galactic Empire, Goki wouldn't be surprised if they could even create a Plasma Spark Tower like the Land of Light.
However, to say this was Earth... wasn't entirely correct either.
After all, there were two moons floating in the sky.
Whoosh—
In the distance, the sound of the waves was exceptionally clear.
Although near the tropics, with winter approaching, night fell early on the coast of Iberia, and Saltwind City had long since plunged into darkness.
"The rain has passed, and the sky is clear."
Sitting by the neatly made double bed, Skadi looked up at the vast, high sky through the clean, transparent window glass.
After an afternoon of heavy rain, Saltwind City's night sky appeared exceptionally clean.
Skadi was long accustomed to the ocean's fickle, childish weather, but she still liked to surface from the deep sea on clear days to gaze at the stars and the full moon in the sky.
This allowed her a brief respite from frequent battles and slaughter, reminding her of the fact that she was still human.
Even upon coming to land, this habit remained.
In the sky, a blue moon, emitting a pale blue light, hung high in the mid-heaven.
This was the blue moon, representing the first half of the night; when the second half of the night arrived, another moon, emitting a pale red light, would climb into the sky—that was the red moon.
From near noon until now, dusk, this spacious room had undergone a tremendous transformation before Skadi's eyes.
The formerly dusty, damp room was now clean and tidy, reminding Skadi of her own dormitory.
It took Skadi and Goki a long time to clean up the room—of course, most of the work was done by Goki while Skadi watched.
Due to the two of them—well, rather, Goki himself—helping the former citizens, a few people generously lent Goki some daily necessities and cleaning tools.
In front of Skadi, this Yharnam Hunter whom she had only recently met, from sweeping to mopping, from dusting to scrubbing, cleaned the entire room thoroughly, inside and out.
All Skadi did was lend a hand to push the heavy metal double bed when Goki couldn't move it by himself.
"Goki... is truly multi-talented."
Recalling his skillful and meticulous housekeeping abilities, Skadi felt a little embarrassed.
Aegirians, for all their pride, had many high-tech conveniences that the land dwellers didn't—such as automatic toilets—but their basic way of life was not much different from those on land.
Those with families and careers went home for meals; those living alone dutifully ate instant food.
And Abyssal Hunters, within Aegir, were also somewhat different.
Their garrisons were far from Aegir's city centers; most of their time was spent training for combat or going out to hunt Seaborn, and they were largely unfamiliar with daily chores.
Watching Goki, this Yharnam Hunter who, according to him, "also spent most of his time hunting beasts," so skillfully manage household chores, Skadi found it very strange.
"He's still not back... Didn't he say he'd only be gone for a little while?"
Her ruby-like eyes shifted slightly, her gaze falling from the full moon in the sky, and Skadi looked towards the dim path outside the door, waiting for his returning figure.
Initially, Skadi actually had no intention of cleaning the room.
For her, as long as she could just pat off the dust and had a bed to sleep on, it was good enough, certainly better than sleeping in the wilderness.
Anyway, Skadi didn't plan to stay in this city for long, at most a day or two, to use the instruments to check Goki's body and her own, then leave Saltwind City.
This city gave Skadi a bad feeling, and she intended to leave early.
However, even though Skadi planned this, Goki adamantly refused and immediately began a thorough cleaning.
According to him, this was called, "No matter how busy work is, it shouldn't affect the quality of life. Even if you just killed prey, you should wash your blood-stained clothes thoroughly before coming home—otherwise, what's the point of living?"
Skadi couldn't argue with him and could only watch as he gradually cleaned the room, making it fresh and tidy.
As for now... "Not bad."
Patting the soft mattress, which Goki had conjured directly using "Yharnam Hunter's methods," and the exceptionally soft brown bedding she was sitting on, Skadi was truly pleased.
"Though, it would be great if there was an automatic toilet."
Looking towards the small room in the corner, Skadi sighed with a touch of regret.
"But... the land isn't as bad as I imagined."
Leaning against the headboard, her knees clasped, her long, pale legs folded in her embrace, Skadi remained expressionless, yet her mind was racing with thoughts.
"If I continue to travel with Goki, I feel like it would be much easier..."
Suddenly, Skadi had a thought that even startled her a little, and she immediately shook her head.
"No, no, I need to learn to do housework myself. Goki can't always travel with me. I need to adapt to the world on land as soon as possible, after all..."
After all, Goki was not an Abyssal Hunter.
This had nothing to do with Aegirian pride; Skadi was now the last Abyssal Hunter.
Moreover, she felt an increasingly clear sensation that the behemoth she killed in the final battle had left some kind of mark within her.
The Seaborn were coming for her.
Apart from the Seaborn-transformed Abyssal Hunter, during their travels these past few days, Skadi and Goki had also dealt with some sporadic Seaborn.
While there was no real danger, Skadi always felt that those Seaborn were pursuing her.
Skadi believed this was a form of revenge; she had killed the Seaborn's leader—whether or not it was the only leader, she had been marked for revenge.
The Seaborn would, in the future, surge forth, scenting her blood, and Skadi would feel their pursuit.
In Saltwind City, Skadi had already detected a similar aura.
"I can't, I can't implicate Goki. He's a good person. I need to quickly learn the language and common sense of the land—and head inland."
Nodding, Skadi made up her mind.
Skadi's own revenge had ended when that behemoth died; she would no longer actively pursue the Seaborn, unless those scumbags appeared before her.
Just then, outside the window, a familiar figure appeared in Skadi's line of sight.
Skadi's eyes widened slightly, and her red eyes held a joy she herself hadn't noticed.
"I'm back, Skadi."
Soon, the door was pushed open, and Goki walked into the room, carrying a pile of things and a dimly glowing lamp.
"I borrowed an Originium lamp and some pots and bowls. These things are more plentiful than the food in town. It's too late tonight, but starting tomorrow, I'll show you my cooking skills."
Placing the borrowed items from various homes one by one onto a square table in the room, Goki said with a cheerful smile to Skadi.
Aside from food, Saltwind City truly lacked nothing.
As a Yharnam Hunter blessed by the blue moon, even in the Yharnam dream, one could live well without sleep or food, but from that time on, Goki had always paid attention to his quality of life.
He tried to fulfill his needs for clothing, food, housing, and transportation as much as possible.
"But not tonight. Let's go to bed early. If we get enough sleep, tomorrow we'll go look for those machines you mentioned. Didn't you say something felt off about the city? We can also investigate it together."
Sitting on the bed, listening blankly to Goki's plans for tomorrow and looking at the pots and pans, Skadi's expression showed a faint hint of indecision.
Her smooth, side-by-side feet, with their plump, round toes, couldn't help but grip the bedsheet.
Then, she nodded again, having made up her mind.
Although they would eventually part ways, during this time while still traveling with Goki, Skadi decided to learn various land knowledge from him and also enjoy what he called "quality of life."
"If there's no danger, I'll stay with him a little longer."
Skadi truly felt that Goki was a wonderful traveling companion.
But then, Goki did something that Skadi found a little confusing.
"I'll sleep on the chair tonight. You sleep well on the bed. I'll wake you up tomorrow morning."
Saying this, Goki arranged several old metal long chairs in the room side by side, and gently spread a blanket, which he had exchanged for ten blood echoes in the dream, over them.
He might talk big, but Goki still didn't dare to actually sleep in the same bed as Skadi.
He knew he had seen many suggestive pictures of Titi on P-station. If he suddenly maxed out his beastliness in his sleep and tried to raid Titi at night... wouldn't he just be flattened into a pulp with one slap?
Goki respected girls and was equally concerned for his own life.
"Goki, do you... like sleeping on chairs?"
After arranging the chairs, Goki turned around to find Skadi standing behind him, her smooth little feet on the ground, her small head with silver hair tilted to the side, looking at him with a puzzled expression.
Not sleeping on the bed but on a chair, Skadi thought there was something wrong with Goki's head.
"Of course not. The bed is definitely more comfortable, but you have to sleep on it too."
"Do I smell bad? Like fish?"
Immediately pulling open the collar of her red dress with her hand, Skadi lowered her head and sniffed above her pale, soft flesh, thinking Goki was disgusted by her.
It wasn't strange; Abyssal Hunters killed Seaborn every day and only washed with seawater at most. If they didn't go to a bathroom, they would definitely smell of the sea.
"No, no, no, absolutely not. If anything, you smell good!"
Goki immediately and sternly denied it—how could a beautiful girl smell bad? A beautiful girl's sweat was fragrant!
Before he could finish speaking, Goki felt two immense forces on his armpits.
"Then it's settled. Is there something wrong with your head? You have a bed but won't sleep in it. Don't worry, I'm very well-behaved at night; I won't sleepwalk and chop people up."
Without hesitation, Skadi embraced Goki and directly dragged him, struggling, towards the bed.
Of course, it was just for sleeping.
"Titi, Titi, no, Titi!"
"Be good and listen—you're the one who said to pay attention to the quality of life!"
Outside the window, the blue moon set towards the west, and the red moon peeked out from the east.
Tonight, Goki, accustomed to dreaming, had a restless dream.
