The wedding came to an end after what seemed like an eternity. We then sat in the carriage after I bid my family goodbye.' What awaits me? ', this question came up once again.
I couldn't help but sigh."Lisa what's wrong?". I looked at him when I heard his voice. Is this an illusion or was there actually concern in his tone? I let go of this thought, then asked the question which was bordering me.
"Am I your only wife or am I supposed to share you with another woman?". He gave off a wicked smirk looking at me with dancing eyes. "What if it's the latter? Jealous?".
'Why will I be jealous? You are not even my type. You're just overthinking', I ranted inwardly looking calm on the outside.
I just didn't want to be mistreated by his 'wife' . If only he had one. Those stories of first wives and mistresses mistreating the new wives are so scary. I wouldn't like my life to be like that. I just wanted a peaceful life away from all those dramas. I just hoped trouble would not find me nor was I looking for trouble.
"Lord Wilson I'm just curious", I said in a mild tone trying not to punch him in the face.
He let out a chuckle then looked at me with a serious expression. "I have mistresses... many of them". I was dumbstricken hearing that. Seems like trouble will find me no matter how much I try to avoid it. I couldn't help but smile bitterly inwardly even though I appeared calm on the outside.
Wilson could not fathom how this girl could still keep a calm expression. He knew his words had an impact on her but was shocked by how she remained indifferent and expressionless.
This is really the girl he wanted to marry. Strong, Bold and confident even in the face of trouble. This is the girl he always loved. He put on that wicked smirk she hated once again.
Seeing this, Lisa couldn't keep her blood from boiling with anger. Her face turned red like a tomato." If you continue blushing this hard your face might burst" . He said with a concerned expression but Lisa knew very well that he was making fun of her.
Lisa couldn't help but curse him in her heart. 'What a jerk'. Even with that she kept that calm expression. This is the only talk they had in the carriage. After that, there was an awkward silence lingering in the carriage until they finally reached home.
