Chapter 4 - CHAPTER 4 — THE FALL INTO DARKNESS

The forest path was silent… too silent.

Skodar ran through the thick layers of moss, his breaths sharp, tearing through his chest. His wounds, still unhealed from the Tian Mountain ascent, dripped glowing blue blood that fell like shining droplets behind him. But he didn't care.

He had only one thought—

"I must reach them… I must save them…"

He followed the deep wheel-marks of the hover sled the alien raiders used. Broken branches, crushed soil, and faint traces of purple smoke guided him like a trail of death.

As he neared the cliffs of Razorfall Gorge, he heard something.

Something he prayed he would never hear.

Screams.

Weak, fading, begging screams.

His heart froze.

He sprinted forward and reached the edge of the cliff. His eyes widened… and then shattered.

The Horror Below

Nine tall figures stood near the edge — the raiders from the Vroxion species, servants of Kharsoks Vlas.

Their Names & Features:

Drevox – Leader; tall, metallic blue skin, carries a plasma-hook spear.Keltar – Sharp-fanged, two cyber-eyes.Mornex – Bulky, armored shoulders.Zelkar – Four-fingered claws, thermal visor.Rakso – Thin, fast, dual-blade wielder.Huvren – Uses sonic grenades.Talvok – Has a mechanical tail.Vekran – Heavy gunner with ion-pulse cannon.Sirox – The youngest, cruel, carries a warp-baton.

They worked silently, efficiently…

like they had done this a thousand times.

A Vroxion soldier grabbed a fainted Vakasa body—

another

and another

and threw them brutally into the dark abyss of the gorge.

Blue blood splattered against the rocks.

Bodies vanished into darkness.

Skodar's breath stopped.

Then he saw them.

Wrapped in torn leaf-cloth…

lifeless…

motionless…

His grandmother Makosra.

His little brother Sukodar.

A Vroxion soldier swung their bodies toward the cliff.

Skodar's voice tore out of his throat.

"STOP!!! DON'T TOUCH THEM!!!"

His scream echoed through the entire gorge.

The raiders paused and turned.

Drevox smirked.

"Look who finally caught up to us… the last little insect."

Skodar stepped forward, fists shaking, eyes burning red with rage.

"PUT THEM DOWN!

PUT MY FAMILY DOWN!"

Vekran laughed, pulling Sukodar's body closer to the edge.

"This trash? They're already dead. We're only cleaning the waste."

Skodar felt something break inside him.

Rage Awakens

The air around him trembled.

His vision blurred.

His heartbeat thundered.

"You…

You killed them…

I WILL KILL YOU ALL!"

He charged.

A burst of speed—

Blue blood splashing behind him—

Feet pounding like thunder—

He slammed into Vekran with such force the alien slid several feet back.

Drevox snarled.

"Capture him alive!"

Skodar dodged a plasma blade by inches.

Rolled across gravel.

Jumped over a sweeping energy baton.

•Kicked Mornex in the jaw.

His body moved on instinct—

fast, desperate, feral.

carried him up a fallen tree, across a boulder, off a cliff wall.

He flipped behind Keltar and drove his elbow into the raider's spine.

Keltar howled.

But Skodar was weakening.

His earlier wounds reopened.

Blue blood flooded the ground.

Still, he fought.

Still, he screamed.

"GRANDMOTHER! SUKODAR! I'M HERE! I'M SORRY!"

Kharsoks Intervenes

A cold voice echoed.

"Enough."

Kharsoks Vlas stepped forward — towering, purple-skinned, armor glowing with red runes. His weapon hummed: a nega-core halberd, capable of cutting through reinforced metal.

He walked toward Skodar, expression emotionless.

"You Vakasa are persistent.

But weak."

He raised his halberd.

Skodar lunged—

but the halberd struck his chest.

A flash.

A shockwave.

Skodar's body flew backward, crashing against stone.

He gasped—

his vision dimming—

his limbs numb.

Blue blood pooled beneath him.

Kharsoks stepped closer.

"A pity…

You fought well for garbage."

He swung his weapon toward Skodar's neck—

The Light

But the blade never touched.

A blue explosion erupted from Skodar's chest.

The pendant around his neck—

the one he always wore since birth—

shattered open and blazed with ancient symbols.

Light swallowed the gorge.

The Vroxion raiders stumbled back.

Drevox shielded his eyes.

Kharsoks hissed, "What—?!"

Skodar's body dissolved into particles of blue energy—

And vanished.

Only silence remained.

Last Words Heard

Just before he disappeared, Skodar whispered:

"Grandmother…

Sukodar…

I will return.

And I will destroy them…"
