"You two, stand down!"
Just as the surging momentum of the two combatants was about to erupt into a decisive clash, a thunderous voice roared across the courtyard. In the blink of an eye, a figure crashed down between Kirito and the Grand Elder.
"Rotation!"
All of the body's chakra tenketsu opened as vents, releasing high-pressure chakra in a rapid spin, the secret of the Hyuga Main House, the perfect technique of absolute defense, combining both offense and defense into one seamless whole!
In an instant, a violent spiraling vortex of chakra exploded outward, blasting both Kirito and the Grand Elder back in opposite directions!
Thud!
The Grand Elder, who had been locked onto Kirito's chakra with absolute focus, was caught completely off-guard by the sudden intervention. Thrown off balance, he landed harshly on the ground. When he finally looked up, his eyes went wide.
Standing before them, was none other than Hiashi Hyuga, head of the Hyuga Clan.
"Grand Elder," Hiashi's stern gaze locked onto him, his tone grave and commanding, "is using such a technique against a kid truly appropriate?"
"Hmph…"
The Grand Elder knew he was in the wrong, but he was too proud to admit it. Begrudgingly, he held his tongue.
Seeing this, Hiashi could only sigh inwardly and shake his head. Then he turned toward Kirito and spoke with equal severity:
"I don't care who you are, no one is allowed to draw weapons or shed blood at the gates of the Hyuga clan."
The Grand Elder's face froze.
Only now did he notice the blade in Kirito's hand, a pure-white longsword emitting an otherworldly chill. His heart skipped a beat.
When did this boy draw that weapon?
Why didn't I sense it at all?!
Kirito remained silent, his gaze fixed on Hiashi, entirely unshaken by the latter's stern and penetrating stare. After a long moment, without a word, he simply opened his hand.
The mysterious blade that had somehow appeared earlier… now vanished just as mysteriously, right before everyone's eyes.
Only a few people noticed a strange drop in the surrounding temperature at that moment. But because it was so brief, most dismissed it as nothing but their imagination.
Only Hiashi Hyuga truly understood.
The moment that blade appeared, the atmosphere had shifted. And with it, an unmistakable surge of killing intent. It wasn't illusion or paranoia. That sword was absolutely not ordinary. As someone standing apart from the direct conflict, he could clearly feel it.
And in that instant, he had sensed just how dangerous Kirito really was.
Kirito's voice cut through the tense air like a cold blade.
"Clan Head Hyuga," he said, his gaze unwavering, "are you here to stop me as well?"
"…"
Hiashi hadn't expected such a bold opening. After a brief pause, he shook his head and replied calmly,
"No. Since you carry an official order personally signed by the Hokage, the Hyuga clan has no reason to stop you."
"Clan Head!"
The Grand Elder's voice immediately rose in protest.
But Hiashi's sharp gaze turned on him without hesitation. His tone dropped several degrees colder.
"Grand Elder, mind your words. As members of the Hyuga clan, Konoha's foremost noble family, do you truly intend to defy the Hokage's command?"
"This…"
The Hyuga elders looked at one another, speechless. As much as they valued the clan's dignity, they could not disobey an order from the Hokage.
"You're exhausted. Please go rest, Grand Elder."
Hiashi's brow furrowed as he interrupted the elder's brewing argument, issuing a direct command.
"Hmph!"
The Grand Elder clenched his fists. His face had been utterly disgraced. He had struck out personally, failed to subdue a mere junior, and was now publicly reprimanded by the clan head. Yet on matters of principle, he could not openly object.
He remained stubborn in his belief that everything he had done was for the honor of the clan.
And naturally, he blamed everything on Kirito.
But Kirito?
He didn't care in the slightest.
Hiashi didn't linger. Without further discussion, he turned to Ayako and instructed,
"Ayako. Take him to see the princess. Everything else, handle it as it should be. This is the Hokage's decision. There will be no further questioning."
With those words, Hiashi stepped past the gates and left the Hyuga compound, his brisk steps suggesting he had pressing matters elsewhere.
But none of that mattered to Kirito now.
With the Clan Head's personal command in place, no one dared stop him. In fact, even if someone did want to stop him, at this point, there likely wasn't a single soul in the Hyuga clan who could.
"Let's go, Ayako."
"R-Right!"
In the span of just a few moments, so much had happened. Even the Clan Head had been drawn out. Ayako was still dazed, her mind swirling with countless questions she wanted to ask.
But there were too many. She didn't know where to start.
As if sensing her thoughts, Kirito gently reached out and ruffled her hair, just like always.
"Later," he said with a smile. "We'll talk when there's time."
