Chapter 57: The Girl Forgotten by Gravity: Treve!

"Whew... Your team's training volume is really high."

In the dining hall of Tracen Academy, Symboli Rudolf, carrying a tray, walked over and sat down at Toyama Hikaru's table, casually remarking.

On the plate were some common healthy foods like chicken breast, salad, rice, etc. But as a horse girl from the U.S., how could Symboli Rudolf be accustomed to Japanese-style flavors?

So, she directly pulled out a tube of hot sauce from who-knows-where and started sprinkling it on all her food.

Toyama Hikaru, sitting nearby, watched her food gradually turn red, pursed her lips, and held back from commenting.

"Stardust Mirage's talent is really amazing. But even so, she probably won't have enough time to train up to a speed capable of dealing with Montjeu before the French team arrives. You have to remember, Montjeu's pure running ability is also on par with the top-tier runners in the country," Symboli Rudolf recalled the results of today's joint training, a look of concern on her face.

"Will there really be a way to defeat Montjeu then?"

"It's normal for there to be a gap in strength. Montjeu has been a world-class runner dominating France for several years now," Toyama Hikaru scooped up a couple bites of rice, then replied calmly.

"However, there's never been a saying that a gap in strength guarantees a loss—that's when tactical arrangements come into play."

At this point, Toyama Hikaru revealed her signature devilish smile. With her right hand, she took out the tablet she always carried, placed it on the table between them, opened a video file, and continued:

"I had someone get this for me—some training footage of the French exchange student team. We can get a preliminary understanding of our opponents."

The camera in the video was slightly shaky, and you could even hear the photographer's panting, but the screen tightly followed the backs of six horse girls with French flair from the inner turf.

They were currently running on the track, each looking powerful, no less than the top-tier runners in Japan.

And because each was tall and slender, the sight of them galloping past in the Scene added an extra layer of imposing momentum.

Every time their hooves made contact with the ground, it seemed to burst with astonishing force, thundering past like a stunning drumbeat.

"Montjeu isn't among them. Presumably, she has her own training regimen, so she didn't participate," Toyama Hikaru explained as she and Symboli Rudolf watched the footage.

"They all look so tall," Symboli Rudolf, as a runner from the U.S., also had experience interacting with Western horse girls in her childhood.

So she immediately noticed that all six runners training in the footage were specially selected, large-statured horse girls.

"This is the popular style in France lately. It seems to be due to Montjeu's influence. They're promoting tall, large-framed horse girls now, saying it ensures sufficient power," Toyama Hikaru grinned.

"It might be related to the common occurrence of heavy going or even very heavy going on French racecourses."

After explaining, she looked towards Symboli Rudolf, seemingly expecting her to spot the hidden issue.

However, Symboli Rudolf didn't notice the information concealed in this video. She was just intently watching the training horse girls, as if trying to discern Montjeu's current training condition.

Just then, Stardust Mirage finally returned to her seat with her six-set meal tray.

As she barely managed to put down the heavy tray, she noticed the video the two were studying and quickly leaned her head in:

"What are you watching? Are these the French team members?"

"Mm, little eagle is observing their training methods," Symboli Rudolf nodded in reply.

"Hmm—hmm?" Watching the footage, Stardust Mirage suddenly frowned in confusion, as if something was incomprehensible.

"What's wrong?" Symboli Rudolf asked.

"Don't you think it's strange, this video?" Stardust Mirage turned to look at Toyama Hikaru, who responded with an encouraging look, urging her to continue.

"...I don't know if saying this is correct, but who shot this video?"

"Hey, you really do have a natural nose for this sort of thing," Tozan Hikari laughed upon hearing this.

Now, prompted by Stardust Mirage, Symboli Rudolf quickly shifted her attention to the video shooter herself.

That's when she realized this video was actually shot by someone handheld, chasing after these horse girls.

In other words, this meant the cameraperson had kept up with these runners from behind, completely not shaken off..

Judging even by the faint panting in the audio and the degree of screen shaking...

Symboli Rudolf had already deduced that this cameraperson hadn't even used her full strength to keep up with them—to keep up with this group of meticulously selected horse girls about to come to Japan for the exchange!

"How is that possible?! Could it be Montjeu? No, Montjeu's running style isn't this light."

Symboli Rudolf tightly gripped the tablet playing the video, her eyes wide open as she tried to discern the secret:

"Just who is this cameraman?!"

Toyama Hikaru shrugged and replied, "Wait and see. This photographer is the life assistant for the French exchange student team. She'll appear in the shot at the end of the video. I remember her name is..."

"Ah, I remember. It's Treve—her name is Treve."

France.

In the Paris winter, a pristine, pure white snowscape presented a unique charm.

The architecture and streets were blanketed under a thick layer of snow. Trees lining the roads were adorned in silvery white, branches laden with crystalline snowflakes, together creating a tranquil and romantic atmosphere.

Pedestrians walking on the snow made crunching sounds, breaking the surrounding silence. There were far fewer people on the streets, but those who remained seemed especially warm.

They wore heavy winter clothing—hats, scarves, and gloves complete—strolling slowly through the snowy scene as if savoring the winter's peace and beauty.

Amidst this snowscape, a figure darted swiftly along the sidewalks.

Her breathing turned into wisps of white vapor in the cold air, intertwining with the falling snowflakes.

Her steps were light, treading on the thick snow, leaving behind almost imperceptible shallow traces. As a few snowflakes fell, these marks vanished entirely.

Her smile was as brilliant as sunlight, breaking the winter's chill and adding a touch of vitality and warmth to the snowy scene.

Pedestrians by the roadside hadn't even reacted before they saw this petite figure, seemingly ignoring gravity, flitting across the snow.

"Who's that? That's so fast."

A passerby covered their mouth with a gloved hand, asking in surprise, "And running on the sidewalk—isn't she afraid of hitting someone? Is she in a hurry to get somewhere?"

"Haha, we're used to scenes like this," laughed a ragged beggar squatting nearby. "That little girl has been running here since she was a kid. Says it's training."

"Running so lightly through the streets, leaving almost no footprints in the snow with each step—pretty impressive, right? 'The Cinderella Forgotten by Gravity'... that's what we call Treve."

"She's probably hurrying back home to the Saint-Denis area for a meal right now. That must be it. It's quite a distance from the academy to her home, after all—hey, how about sparing some change? My mouth is dry from talking."

The beggar addressed the man before him, nudging the bowl in front of him with his foot.

"May God bless you," the man shrugged, took out a few dozen francs, bent down to place them in the bowl, and offered a polite blessing.

"Hahaha, if God could protect me, I wouldn't have gone bankrupt," the beggar quickly stuffed the money into his clothes, laughing heartily.
