Chapter 72 - VOLUME II — CHAPTER 10

Caelum nodded.

"He trusted you would arrive unfinished," he said. "Which meant you could still choose."

D U scoffed.

"Yeah, well, his choices got us hunted."

Caelum looked down at D U.

"And yours kept you alive."

Then he turned back to Null.

"Aizeno is moving faster now," Caelum continued. "The Old Gen who joined him aren't soldiers. They're anchors. Each one stabilizes a layer of his reset protocol."

Null's eyes sharpened.

"And the Door?"

Caelum hesitated.

"The Door is reacting to you," he admitted. "Not as a key. As a correction."

Silence settled heavily.

Hyung spoke quietly.

"So what's next?"

Caelum looked directly at Null.

"Your father left more than seals," he said. "He left contingencies. Places only his blood can enter. Truths even Aizeno doesn't fully understand."

Null felt something stir—not power, but alignment.

"And if I open them?"

Caelum met his gaze.

"Then you stop being a variable," he said. "And become a factor."

D U laughed weakly.

"Wow. No pressure at all."

Null turned away, looking down the dark tunnel stretching deeper beneath the city.

He understood now.

This wasn't about becoming king.

Or weapon.

Or savior.

It was about deciding what inheritance meant—before someone else defined it for him.

"We move at dawn," Null said.

Hyung nodded.

D U smirked.

Caelum's eyes gleamed faintly.

Far above them, unseen, the Door resonated once—as if acknowledging the decision.

The world had not chosen its future yet.

But Null had chosen his direction.
