Chapter 44 - Chapter 44 Single-handedly Suppressing the God of Death and the God of Destruction

"Dad, I'm scared."

"Scared of what, John?"

"Scared of going back to that room I've never seen, I hate it there."

Mark took a deep breath, "Everything is white, it's like I'm trapped there, trying to shout but no sound comes out. Dad, is that the Catholic hell you talked about?"

Peter was silent for a moment, then shook his head and said, "That's not hell, hell is too far away."

Stroking Mark's hair, a thoughtful expression appeared on his face.

Although Mark was sent by a spaceship since he was young, he seemed to vaguely remember some memories from before his arrival.

In the Black Robe Universe, Mark was born in a laboratory and underwent various experimental tests from a young age, constantly being brainwashed and controlled.

Now, after being sent to him by a meteor shower, he avoided the tragic childhood of his previous life, and his fate has changed.

Since Mark has been sent to this Universe, does another Mark still exist in the Black Robe Universe?

If he does, is this phenomenon a telepathic connection between two Universe counterparts?

If he doesn't, is it just a memory of his birth, lingering in Mark's mind?

"Crack!"

Just as Peter was lost in thought, a clap of thunder echoed in the sky.

Looking up at the intensifying rain, Peter stood up and said to Mark, "It's late, John, go back to sleep."

"Mm."

Mark obediently replied, stood up, and followed Peter, leaving the Barn roof.

The night passed without a word.

Morning.

Peter contacted a construction team and, with the help of Martha and Jonathan, began repairing the house.

The two mischievous children who had caused trouble helped out.

Due to last night's heavy rain, Peter could use "heavy rain" as an excuse to explain the damage to the farm.

By the fence, Clark secretly glanced around, and after confirming that no one was paying attention to him, he pressed a nail with his finger, directly pushing it into the wooden post.

"You can't expose your abilities, Clark."

Mark stood behind Clark at some point, saying quietly.

Rubbing his nose, Clark said somewhat awkwardly, "Sorry, I forgot."

After their mutual fight last night, the two quickly reconciled.

Even though Clark still felt a bit awkward when he saw Mark again.

"About yesterday, I'm sorry, John, I shouldn't have said that."

After Clark set up the wooden post, he apologized to Mark.

His remark about "Martha being his mother and Peter being his father" was severely suppressed last night.

Martha, feeling that Clark had damaged her reputation, couldn't resist giving him several slaps on the bottom.

After being disciplined and realizing that "words shouldn't be spoken carelessly," Clark obediently apologized to Mark.

"It's okay."

Mark generously expressed his forgiveness.

Anyway, what you said was all false.

He couldn't help but mutter in his heart.

"I shouldn't have beaten you so hard last night."

Mark took a breath and apologized to Clark.

However, in Clark's ears, this sounded a bit annoying.

He replied to Mark, "I shouldn't have thrown you down the stairs, John."

"I shouldn't have headbutted you, Clark."

"I shouldn't have thrown you onto the second-floor floor, making you unable to get up, John."

"Then I shouldn't have thrown you into the Barn, Clark, and smashed through the wall."

The more they spoke, the more agitated their tones became.

Mark's face flushed red as he said, "I am stronger, I am the God of Death, I am the Lord of Hell, the King of the Dark Abyss!"

Clark was not to be outdone, saying, "I am Shiva, I am the Destroyer of the World, I am the scissors of Atropos, the Goddess of Fate!"

"John? Clark?"

Hearing that the two seemed to be arguing again, Peter called out to them and gave them a warning look.

Mark, the God of Death, Lord of Hell, and King of the Dark Abyss, and Clark, Shiva and Destroyer of the World, were immediately suppressed by Peter's gaze and obediently got back to work.

At the same time.

Leno Luther, followed Officer Lyne into Old Hori's residence.

Through investigating several recent murders in Smallville, the Police quickly discovered that the victims were connected to a robbery forty years ago.

The three suspects involved in the case had been killed, making the sole survivor, Old Hori, the prime suspect.

Lyne, through his investigation, finally uncovered Old Hori's true identity.

Leno Luther, the victim of that robbery, somehow got word and also rushed to the scene.

After a search, the Police found a demon mask, serving as criminal evidence, in Old Hori's residence.

"A young man? This doesn't quite fit your initial definition of the suspect."

Leno surveyed the surroundings and said to Lyne.

"We all know he was incredibly strong during the robbery, which isn't normal."

Lyne didn't have a good impression of this entrepreneur from Metropolis, "His body clearly underwent some kind of mutation, Mr. Luther, your chemical plant, what were you discharging into the Smallville River before? Perhaps this has something to do with the chemical plant."

A hint of displeasure flashed in Leno's eyes as he said, "The chemical plant has been shut down by me, and... we've never discharged anything into the river."

"Just a guess, but since you've shut it down, whether you actually discharged anything is no longer important."

Officer Lyne said to him, "Excuse me, I must leave for a moment. The suspect has disappeared and is presumed to have escaped. We need to organize a capture operation."

At this time, Lyne didn't know that Old Hori had already been disposed of by Peter, dead beyond all doubt.

Seeing that the other party didn't welcome him, Leno Luther didn't press his luck and directly left Old Hori's residence, preparing to return to Metropolis.

He had only walked a few steps when his subordinate came to report the damage to Patrick Farm.

After a moment of hesitation, he canceled his trip back to Metropolis and drove towards Patrick Farm.

Ten minutes later, Patrick Farm.

Peter was tidying up the damaged items in the living room when the sound of a car engine came from outside the door.

Leno Luther walked onto the farm, surveying the damaged buildings around him.

The shocking signs of destruction looked as if they had endured the ravages of a typhoon, a scene of utter devastation.

Although there was heavy rain last night, it only lasted for a short time, and there was no typhoon.

Frowning, he wondered what exactly happened here last night.

Peter Patrick, what kind of You-Know-Who is he?!

"Mr. Luther?"

Just as he was lost in thought, a voice reached him.

Hearing Peter's voice, Leno's brow immediately relaxed, and he greeted Peter as if nothing had happened.

"I hope you don't mind, Patrick."

Leno extended his hand to Peter for a handshake, "I heard your farm was damaged in the heavy rain, so I came to see if I could help. You know, I previously established an agricultural fund specifically to help support Smallville's agriculture."

Although Peter didn't know if this fund was specifically set up for him by the other party, he knew this old fellow definitely had ulterior motives.

"No, thank you, Mr. Luther, I don't think I need assistance for now."
