Chapter 107: Encounter with the Hidden Mist Team
While Kaito's squad and Nara Shōri's squad clashed, other teams had not yet made contact with anyone.
Some teams chose to hide, while others went hunting. They often tracked each other for most of the day before the first engagement occurred.
Meanwhile, the second team from the Hidden Mist decided to head straight for the tower and set up traps there.
On their way to the tower, they fought beasts three times, which slowed them down. It took them about thirty minutes before they saw the tower.
Kaito, Hodaka, and Mieko also encountered beasts twice. The first was a 5-meter-tall ape, and the second was a 3-meter-tall tiger! However, both were easily slain by Kaito.

Hodaka agreed. "Yeah, I agree."
Kaito said, "Alright. Their other team seems very interested in killing."
He grinned. "Then let's just kill this team!"
They moved quickly. Kaito said, "These guys don't seem to have a sensory ninja. They might just die from a surprise attack."
Hodaka frowned and quickly said, "Let's not ambush them! I want to fight them head-on!"
Kaito raised an eyebrow. "Why not ambush? It's foolish not to when you have the chance."
Mieko said, "I also want to fight them head-on, so it's 2-on-1."
Hodaka chuckled. "Yeah, we'll fight them head-on."
Kaito sighed, thinking to himself, These kids... no wonder they didn't set a record. Even assuming they're as strong as us, they might just be messing around instead of trying to pass quickly.
Seeing Kaito's defeated sigh, both of them laughed.
The Hidden Mist squad was also moving toward the tower. However, a hundred meters from the tower, they were attacked by a giant python!
