Chapter 80: The Advantages of Clan Shinobi

Renjiro looked at their expressions, smiled, and said, "First, we need to increase the pressure of your sealing jutsu training. What pressure are you currently using?"

Mieko replied, "Three percent."

Hodaka replied, "Thirty-eight percent."

Kaito replied, "Eighteen point five percent."

Renjiro nodded and said, "Good. Mieko, increase yours to five percent. Hodaka, yours to forty-five percent. Kaito, yours to twenty-two percent."

The genin followed their teacher's instructions. After increasing the pressure, Renjiro began the morning training.

In addition to the increased sealing jutsu pressure, the training itself became more difficult. The training did not end at 9 o'clock as usual, but continued until 10 o'clock.

After the training, all three genin collapsed listlessly under a tree.

Renjiro looked at this scene, laughed heartily, and said loudly, "If simple training defeats you, how will you achieve your dreams? You have one hour of rest, and the afternoon training will continue from eleven to two o'clock."

After speaking, he used Body Flicker Technique and vanished.

Half an hour later, Kaito and Hodaka had somewhat recovered their stamina. Mieko was still sleeping. Hodaka asked, "Do you know why he suddenly increased the intensity of the training?"

Kaito replied, "Who knows? Maybe he plans to have us participate in the next Chunin Exams, or maybe it's just because we recently graduated, and he took it easy on us before."

He took a deep breath, then continued, "In any case, this is still very beneficial for us."

Hodaka sighed and said, "I always thought I was the one most looking forward to training, but it seems you're crazier than I am."

After speaking, he chuckled softly.

Kaito looked back at him, then smiled and said, "Well, I just hope we can get through this training alive."

Then he picked up a ration bar and ate it, and began stretching his body. Hodaka followed suit.

At 11 o'clock, Renjiro appeared again. He created two Shadow Clones and said, "Today we are going to discuss how to improve your individual growth rates. Follow one of them."

Mieko and Hodaka followed a Shadow Clone into the forest, while Kaito remained in place.

Renjiro looked at Kaito and asked, "Who do you think among the three of you is growing the fastest?"

Kaito thought for a moment and said, "Probably me."

Renjiro nodded and replied, "Yes, your growth rate is much faster than the Academy teachers predicted, and even faster than I predicted. However, compared to your two teammates, you have a significant disadvantage. Do you know what that is?"

Kaito fell into thought upon hearing this question. After a while, he replied, "Kekkei genkai."

Renjiro nodded and said, "Yes, but not entirely. In addition to their kekkei genkai, they also have large clans that have developed jutsu specifically designed to complement their bloodline abilities, which gives them a substantial advantage."

Upon hearing this, Kaito fell into deep thought. Renjiro continued, "Hodaka and Mieko are both very talented, and soon, their clans will begin investing heavily in them, systematically promoting their rapid growth. How will you respond? Or will you be left behind by the two of them?"

Kaito replied earnestly, "That's why I spent time becoming a sensory-type shinobi and learning kenjutsu. I don't have any kekkei genkai, so obviously my strength won't suddenly increase dramatically. But I believe that as long as I continue training my skills to their absolute limit, I will surpass those shinobi who rely solely on their bloodline abilities."

Renjiro asked with a serious expression, "Why do you think those with kekkei genkai won't train to their limits? Do you really think you can surpass them when they have so many inherent advantages?"

Kaito smiled and gently placed his hand on the hilt of his sword. He said, "I heard that the strongest samurai in the Land of Iron can contend head-on with a Kage using only a blade. Even in Konoha, despite so many kekkei genkai, the Second, Third, and Fourth Hokage were all shinobi without bloodline limits. Similarly, none of the Legendary Sannin have kekkei genkai, so as long as I continue training hard, I don't think I will lose to anyone with a bloodline limit."

Renjiro was genuinely surprised by this answer. More importantly, he was surprised by the confidence in Kaito's voice. He thought with a wry smile, "Well, this kid doesn't need any encouragement or confidence boost. But he might need a reality check."

At the same time, Kaito was thinking, "Is he trying to motivate me or something? Anyway, although kekkei genkai are powerful, they're not something that automatically produces S-rank shinobi. Besides the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, Rinnegan, and perhaps the Tenseigan, the others aren't that overwhelmingly powerful."

"I know the Senju Clan respects Wood Release the most, but to be honest, it was Hashirama Senju who made Wood Release overwhelmingly powerful, not Wood Release itself that made him strong. Besides, one Mokuton user is about to die, and the other has a cursed seal on him. This is not something I would envy."

After a brief pause, Renjiro spoke again, "That's an excellent perspective. But don't forget—whether it's the Second, Third, or Fourth Hokage, or the Legendary Sannin, they were all exceptionally talented and worked incredibly hard. So while it's good to be inspired by them, don't forget that you must train extremely hard to reach that level."

Kaito nodded and said, "Yes, sensei."

Renjiro smiled and added, "I have one more thing I want to tell you about kekkei genkai, but you're not ready to hear it yet. I will tell you when you complete your first B-rank mission as a chunin."

Kaito was very curious about what Renjiro wanted to tell him. He replied, "Understood, sensei."

Renjiro asked again, "What is your analysis of your current abilities? How do you plan to continue your training going forward?"

Kaito thought for a while, then replied, "First, my abilities as a sensory-type shinobi are developing quite well, but this is my secondary specialization. In terms of combat, Wind Release and kenjutsu seem to be my main focuses. Kenjutsu is my preferred close-range combat method, and Wind Release gives me mid-range combat capability. Of course, there is still much work to be done in both areas."

"I can also use some Earth Release techniques for defense. In addition, I have Body Flicker Technique for increased mobility. My stamina, speed, and chakra reserves are also pretty good, at least for a genin."

Kaito's analysis impressed Renjiro. Kaito continued, "As for what I lack or need to improve... I need some more powerful techniques in my arsenal that can cause significant impact or destruction on the battlefield. And my taijutsu also needs improvement. Currently, I only know the basic Academy style."

After answering, he looked up at his teacher. Renjiro replied, "Very insightful analysis. But you don't need to worry about more powerful jutsu yet. Once you become a jonin, you can learn the A-rank techniques available in our village. For now, focus on mastering C-rank jutsu. It's best to only consider higher-level techniques after your chakra reserves have significantly increased over the next few years."

"However, your point about taijutsu is correct. Although you ranked very high in the Academy, this basic taijutsu style won't help you much against skilled opponents. So I will teach you the taijutsu style I practice—the Senju Style Taijutsu!"
