Chapter 5 - CHAPTER -4 ( THE STORY JUST BEGINS)

As Akira's eyes sparkled with malevolent intent, his laughter echoed through the air, a haunting melody that sent shivers down my spine. The evil smile that spread across his face was a mirror image of my own, a chilling reminder that I was gazing upon a kindred spirit. And then, as if fate itself had orchestrated the moment, Akira's phone rang, shrill and insistent. He answered, his voice transformed, dripping with false bonhomie. "Oh, hi Lint! Long time no talk, my friend. I thought you'd forgotten me, dude."

Lint's voice, a low, smooth purr, emanated from the other end of the line, a stark contrast to Akira's affected tone. "Sorry, Akira, been busy with work. Just got some time off, thought I'd catch up with an old friend...are you free?" Akira's response was a masterclass in deception, a seamless blend of warmth and camaraderie. "Why not, Lint? And remember, you're buying, since I paid the bill last time."

As the conversation drew to a close, Akira's demeanor shifted, his mask slipping to reveal a big calculating individual beneath. "Ok, ok, I'll pay. Ok, bye, I'll meet you at Drips Cafe, ok?" The line went dead, and Akira turned to me, his eyes blazing with a fierce intensity. "Did you tell him anything about last night?" he demanded, his voice low and menacing.

I smiled, a cold, calculated smile, as I replied, "Me? I'm a devil, invisible until I choose to be seen. And he called you because you were caught on CCTV footage at that party." Akira's face darkened, his fists clenched in frustration, as he growled, "Damnit! I need to play it smarter."

The hours ticked by, and Akira met Lint at Drips Cafe, their reunion a carefully choreographed dance of friendship and deception. As they sat across from each other, their eyes locked in a silent understanding, I watched, fascinated, as the game of cat and mouse unfolded. Akira's greeting, a warm, effusive handshake, was a masterful performance, one that belied the calculating mind behind the facade. "Oh, Lint, how are you, bro?"

Lint's response, a polite, courteous smile, was a perfect counterpoint to Akira's affected warmth. "Please, take a seat." As they sat, their eyes locked in a silent understanding, I sensed a strange energy emanating from Lint, a power that seemed almost...familiar.

Akira, ever the chameleon, shifted gears with ease, his conversation flowing like a smooth, honeyed wine. "Lint, I saw the news, and I heard you're dealing with a new case, the nightclub thing." Lint's eyes narrowed, his gaze piercing, as he replied, "You know I was at that cafe that night, but I left because I didn't like the environment."

I felt a jolt of surprise, my mind racing with the implications. Why was Akira revealing so much? What was his game? Lint's response, a seemingly innocuous question, was a cleverly crafted trap. "Oh, yeah, I know, Akira. I saw you in the footage. Why did you go there? You don't like parties like that, do you?"

Akira's smile, a bland, unassuming mask, hid the calculating mind beneath. "Oh, I went there to experience the pub party scene, but there was too much nudity, and it made me feel sick. I left." Lint's eyes sparkled with curiosity, his voice dripping with skepticism. "Wait, you left? But there's a whole recording of that night on my phone. Let me check the exit door footage...wait, why is it blank?"

A smile, a cold, calculated smile, spread across Akira's face, a smile that sent shivers down my spine. "Don't worry, might be a camera glitch or wiring problem. Let's eat first." As they delved into their meal, I sensed a strange, almost palpable energy emanating from Akira, a power that seemed to be building, growing in intensity.

And then, like a bolt of lightning on a stormy night, it hit me – Akira was planning something, something big, something that would change the course of events forever. I decided to probe deeper, to read his mind, and what I discovered left me stunned. "Oh, thank God I disconnected the wire by throwing a fork at the camera wire. Everything is going according to plan, and soon, Lint, you'll see my new world."

As the phone's shrill tone pierced the air, Lint's eyes flickered towards the device, his gaze lingering for a moment before he picked up. "Hi, it's me, Lint," he said, his voice smooth as silk. Advert's voice, laced with a hint of urgency, replied, "Sir, I need your help. Sir Kinard has returned to the office from Malaysia, and he's demanding to see you." Lint's smile, a thin, enigmatic curve of his lips, seemed to hold a secret as he replied, "Ok, I'm coming." The line went dead, and Lint's eyes met Akira's, a spark of intrigue dancing in their depths.

Akira's curiosity, a palpable force, prompted him to ask, "What's up, Lint?" Lint's response, a low, measured tone, sent a shiver down Akira's spine. "It seems our most honored Kindaiechi Agency president has returned from Malaysia. In short, your father has returned to Tokyo, Akira." The words hung in the air, heavy with portent, as Akira's smile, a faint, ghostly curve of his lips, seemed to whisper, "Oh, why not?" Lint's eyes, a piercing blue, seemed to bore into Akira's soul as he said, "Want to come with me?"

As Lint stood, his movements fluid and deliberate, he turned to Akira, his voice dropping to a whisper. "Akira, one last question: Who is Lucifer?" The words, a velvet-wrapped gauntlet, seemed to strike Akira with the force of a physical blow. His face, a mask of composure, went pale, and I felt a presence behind me, a hand on my back, sending shivers down my spine. The voice, a low, husky whisper, seemed to caress my ear. "It would be boring if my friend enjoyed that game alone."

I spun around, my heart racing, and what I saw made my blood run cold. It was Lucarious, his eyes glinting with a malevolent light, his presence seeming to fill the air with an unspeakable evil.
