Chapter 74 - Chapter;74 Tao Yao's Preferences

Tao Yao took a deep breath, her gaze scanning back and forth between the two Hiyakuras.

She smiled confidently and spoke:

"Then, please listen to the first question. What is my favorite color?"

This question left both Hiyakuras stunned.

They clearly did not expect Tao Yao to ask such a seemingly simple yet full of traps question.

Present Hiyakura's brow furrowed slightly.

Whereas Past Hiyakura maintained a calm expression.

Tao Yao noticed their reactions and a sly smile crept onto her lips.

"I will count down from 3 to 1, and you both say the answer together, and let me judge!"

"3..."

The countdown began, and Present Hiyakura felt a wave of nervousness.

She knew too little about Tao Yao.

How could she possibly be clear on her preferences regarding color?

She stole a glance at Past Hiyakura beside her, seeing a relaxed expression on her face, which only made her more anxious.

"2..."

The countdown continued, and there was too little time for Present Hiyakura to think.

She hurriedly observed Tao Yao, noticing the pink decorations on her.

In just an instant, countless thoughts flashed through her mind.

Tao Yao's clothing seemed to primarily feature pink and white.

And she herself had pink hair.

So, did Tao Yao like pink?

Upon careful consideration, this guess seemed quite reasonable.

Just as Present Hiyakura was about to speak her answer, Shiro's somewhat sour voice suddenly echoed in her ear:

"Red, she likes red the most."

"1..."

"Red!"

Both Hiyakuras simultaneously spoke.

Upon hearing the answers from the two Hiyakuras, Tao Yao widened her eyes in surprise:

"Ah! You actually got it right? Did I show it that obviously?"

Past Hiyakura let out a light laugh, a hint of blush appearing on her face.

"Did you forget? You once asked me what color I liked, and I said white, then you gave me the cold shoulder for a few minutes. Later, you took the initiative to say you really liked red and told me to remember that well..."

After listening, Tao Yao displayed a slightly complaining expression:

"Nonsense! How could I give my good Hiyakura the cold shoulder!"

And Present Hiyakura was secretly surprised by this conversation.

It really was like Shiro said; it was indeed red?

But the question was, wasn't she herself dressed in red?

This answer was indeed somewhat unexpected.

Tao Yao looked at the two Hiyakuras, her expression becoming serious, "Alright, you both got the first question right. But that doesn't completely prove your identities. Let's continue to the next question."

She paused for a moment, her gaze sweeping back and forth between the two.

"Tell me, what is my favorite fruit?"

Present Hiyakura fell into deep thought once again.

She recalled everything she knew about Tao Yao, but apparently, there were no clues in her awareness to help her answer this question.

She began to feel a tinge of anxiety, fearing she would reveal her identity.

"Don't panic."

Shiro's voice rang in Present Hiyakura's ear, with an undeniable tone, "Just respond as I say, I will not be outdone by anyone when it comes to understanding Miss Tao Yao's preferences."

Present Hiyakura could sense the firmness in Shiro's words.

This confidence seemed to stem not only from understanding Tao Yao.

It was more like an obsession with not wanting to lose to Past Hiyakura in any aspect.

Tao Yao's voice interrupted Present Hiyakura's thoughts.

"Okay, I'll count down again. 3..."

Present Hiyakura held her breath, waiting for Shiro's direction.

"2..."

"Cherry." Shiro said succinctly and firmly.

"1..."

"Cherry!"

The two Hiyakuras shouted the answer in unison.

At that moment, the air seemed to freeze.

Tao Yao's eyes widened, looking at the two Hiyakuras, her expression shifting from surprise to delight.

Present Hiyakura and Past Hiyakura exchanged glances, their eyes filled with complex emotions.

Tao Yao suddenly jumped up excitedly, clapping her hands together, and her face lit up with a brilliant smile.

"That's right! You got it right! Right? Right? Cherries are the best fruit in the world!"

Her eyes sparkled with excitement as she began to list the many virtues of cherries.

"Not only are they delicious, but they are also very nutritious. Rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, they're particularly good for the body. And the color of cherries is so vibrant and beautiful! That deep red color is like crystallized love."

As Tao Yao spoke, an intoxicated expression appeared on her face.

"And the aroma of cherries, fresh and sweet, just inhaling it can brighten one's mood."

"The most important thing is the taste of cherries! Sweet with a tangy aftertaste, every bite is a delight."

She continued enthusiastically:

"My favorite thing used to be sitting under a tree in the summer, eating freshly picked cherries. That feeling is simply the epitome of bliss!"

Tao Yao became more and more excited, her smile growing brighter.

"And cherries come in many varieties! Like red lights, yellow honey, cherries, black cherries..."

Just as Tao Yao was extolling the virtues of cherries,

Past Hiyakura lightly coughed, interrupting her.

Past Hiyakura showed a hint of helplessness on her face.

But her eyes expressed tenderness and indulgence.

"Tao Yao..."

Past Hiyakura's tone was both gentle and firm, "The questions you're asking are not secrets. Anyone who knows you a little can guess the answers. If you really want to distinguish us, you should ask some secrets that only we know. That way, it would help you make the correct judgment."

Upon hearing Past Hiyakura's words, Tao Yao suddenly froze.

A trace of conflict and embarrassment appeared on her face.

She lowered her head, her fingers nervously twisting together, and her voice became a bit hesitant.

"Do I really have to do that?" Tao Yao murmured softly, "But... but if the things that happened back then were said out loud, I would feel quite embarrassed..."

She looked up, her gaze sweeping between the two Hiyakuras, her eyes filled with conflict and hesitation.

Tao Yao bit her lip, seemingly weighing whether to follow Past Hiyakura's suggestion.

A subtle tension filled the air.

Present Hiyakura and Past Hiyakura held their breath, waiting for Tao Yao's decision.

And Tao Yao stood there, seemingly engaged in an intense internal struggle.

Finally, Tao Yao took a deep breath, seemingly having made up her mind.

She raised her head, her gaze confidently fixed on the two Hiyakuras, her face still carrying a hint of shyness, and then spoke in a slightly hesitant voice:

"Since that's the case, then I will..."
