Chapter 68 - Chapter;68 Violet is Missing

"What the hell! What is going on here?"

Sakura Fubuki's voice was filled with disbelief and helplessness:

"Since you're going to gift a max-level Tao Yao, why not just give it all at once? Even if you didn't want to give it all at once, why put her in the card pool? Are you deliberately messing with me?"

Her words carried an obvious grudge, and she continued to complain:

"I prepared so many 'betrothal gifts', and now you tell me it's unnecessary?"

She took a deep breath, trying to calm her excited emotions, but it was evidently not working.

"Is there such game design? This is simply playing with the players' emotions!"

In contrast to Sakura Fubuki's breakdown.

The viewers in the livestream were thoroughly enjoying her reaction:

"Watching the streamer suffer is so enjoyable; it's been a while since I've had this much fun!"

"Snow Dog is too funny; I laughed until my stomach hurt!"

"True to her nickname, Snow Dog never fails to entertain; this gacha operation is just brilliant!"

Looking at the barrage of teasing comments on the screen, Sakura Fubuki's expression became even more helpless.

She sighed deeply, trying to suppress her frustration.

"Alright, alright."

She chuckled self-deprecatingly, "I've already drawn, what else can I do? Anyway, I didn't get anything. Since the event can provide demon soul materials, that actually works in my favor. At least I don't need to spend money on gacha anymore."

With her mindset adjusted, Sakura Fubuki shifted her attention to the event.

She carefully read the event description.

She found out that this event was tied to the Old Floral Language mode.

"Looks like I need to complete some specific tasks in the Old Floral Language to obtain Tao Yao's demon soul materials,"

she muttered to herself, "Then let's start right away."

However, as she prepared to enter the Old Floral Language, she realized she needed to complete the prerequisite main storyline missions first.

Sakura Fubuki was taken aback and then smiled bitterly:

"The prerequisite is actually a main quest? Great, now I don't have to do them separately. It seems I have to push through the main quest and the event all at once today."

She took a deep breath and clicked into the newly unlocked main quest.

The quest title appeared on the screen:

[New Quest: A Ghost-Hunting Request from Dual Cities?]

Objectives: Find Violet and have a detailed conversation with her.

Description: Violet seems to have taken on a new mission recently; strange and bizarre occurrences have surfaced in the newly reconstructed Dual Cities. Hurry to find Violet and ask her what exactly is happening?

With the quest activated.

The game's Hiyakura suddenly received a message from Violet:

"Hiyakura, we have a mission; can you come over?"

Sakura Fubuki controlled Hiyakura to the designated location.

There, she saw Violet and Jasmine standing together, seemingly discussing something.

As Sakura Fubuki opened the dialogue box, Violet spoke first:

"Hiyakura, I know you've been feeling a bit down lately, but staying inside the house isn't a solution..."

"So, I took the liberty to accept a mission, thinking our team could go out for a bit. This way, it should cheer you up a little..."

Hiyakura responded in surprise, "Thanks, but I'm really fine..."

Violet continued to explain:

"I didn't take on any particularly difficult or troublesome missions, so after we finish our tasks, we can take a public-funded trip to unwind a bit, how about that?"

"And since our team has formed, we have never had an official team-building activity!"

Her tone was filled with anticipation.

Sakura Fubuki looked at the screen where only the options "Agree" and "Think Again" were available, feeling both amused and exasperated:

"Following the popular format, in this situation, no matter which option you choose, you're bound to agree in the end. Besides, Hiyakura clearly isn't the type to refuse others."

Without much thought, Sakura Fubuki chose the "Agree" option.

Hiyakura, Jasmine, and Violet formed a trio and reported their itinerary to Manju Academy before immediately setting off for Dual Cities.

On the way to the Dual Cities, the three discussed the details of this mission.

Violet explained:

"Let me tell you about the mission I accepted."

"Apparently, a certain area in Dual Cities has been experiencing paranormal activity, causing a lot of anxiety among the residents nearby."

"And our mission this time is to investigate this matter and see if we can resolve this issue."

Hiyakura furrowed her brows and said, "Ghosts? That sounds scary..."

Jasmine seemed much calmer:

"Don't worry, if we go together, it should be fine. Besides, how could there really be ghosts in this world? Unless something unexpected happens, it's likely just someone playing a prank. We just need to catch the culprit."

As the three chatted while walking, they soon arrived at Moonlight City.

The atmosphere in the city was indeed a bit eerie, with few pedestrians on the streets.

Occasionally, they spotted residents hurriedly walking by with a nervous expression.

Violet suggested, "Let's split up and gather some clues. Let's meet back at the city center square in an hour, what do you think?"

Hiyakura and Jasmine both agreed with the suggestion.

Thus, the three split up and began searching the city for possible clues.

Hiyakura walked down the empty street, carefully observing the surrounding environment.

Suddenly, she heard a strange noise coming from a nearby building.

She cautiously approached, ready to investigate.

Meanwhile, according to different assignments.

Jasmine asked vendors in the market area about the rumors of the haunting.

Violet went to another location to investigate.

As the plot developed.

The character controlled by Sakura Fubuki spoke to all the interactive characters available.

Unfortunately, they didn't receive any useful clues.

Not long after.

Jasmine and Hiyakura arrived at the agreed meeting point on time.

But Violet was still missing.

"Strange, where did Violet go?"

Hiyakura said worriedly.

Jasmine furrowed her brows, looking around:

"Let's wait a bit longer; maybe she just got delayed by something."

However.

Violet still did not show up.

Hiyakura said, "Violet isn't the kind of person to miss an appointment without reason. So did she run into some trouble? Jasmine, we have to go look for her."

Jasmine nodded in agreement with Hiyakura's decision.

Hiyakura thought for a moment and said:

"Violet said she wanted to check the condition of the newly reconstructed street; let's go there and take a look."

The two set off immediately.

As the plot reached this point, Sakura Fubuki confidently declared, "Everyone, based on my experience playing games for so long, if nothing unexpected happens, something unexpected is likely to happen!"

Just as Sakura Fubuki stated.

Hiyakura and Jasmine in the game searched all the places they could think of where Violet might have gone.

An undeniable conclusion lay before them.

That is, Violet had indeed gone missing!
