Chapter 38 - Chapter;38 Hiyakura's Animated Short, Heartbroken Players

Sakura Fubuki suddenly stood up from her chair, her face radiating uncontainable excitement and pride.

With her hands on her hips, she loudly proclaimed to the viewers in the live stream:

"Did you see that? Did you see that?"

"I told you not to rush! I predicted this would happen long ago!"

"What are you all so anxious about? Huh?!"

"Now look closely, how could I possibly misunderstand Tao Yao? She has clearly stated her position! Isn't this the epitome of a villain turning from white to black?"

Sakura Fubuki's voice was filled with a long-lost confidence.

It seemed as if all her past grievances and repressions finally found an outlet.

She continued her enthusiastic speech:

"I've said it before, Tao Yao has problems, but you didn't believe me. So what now? The truth is out, right? Now you should believe me! I bet my reputation just to tell you the truth!"

Victory shone in her eyes, and the expression on her face transformed from previous gloom to a radiant smile.

Sakura Fubuki took a deep breath and slowly sat back down in her chair, her entire demeanor refreshed.

Meanwhile, the chat room fell into silence.

Many viewers seemed to still be processing this sudden plot twist.

After a moment, the chat slowly became active again:

"No way? Could it be that the host was right?"

"Even though the host was right, why do I feel so uncomfortable about it?"

"No! There must be a twist coming, right?"

"There has to be some hidden truth, right?"

"My Tao Yao deity, my steadfast belief, is it going to collapse here?"

Facing the viewers' doubts and unease, Sakura Fubuki appeared to be completely confident.

She smiled and said, "Everyone, based on my experience, if nothing unexpected happens, Tao Yao is about to show her health bar!"

And sure enough.

As the plot progressed, Tao Yao's health bar quickly appeared on the screen.

Above the health bar, there was a line of text.

["Flower Dance Ni Shang" Tao Yao]

At the same time, a countdown timer popped up at the top of the screen.

Clearly, this seemed to be a time-limited challenge.

You needed to defeat Tao Yao within the limited time to pass smoothly.

Seeing this challenge, the chat suggested:

"How about the host finds someone to play for her?"

Upon seeing these suggestions, Sakura Fubuki was not pleased.

"Who do you think you're looking down on? Just watch me blow her up!"

In response to Sakura Fubuki's defiant reaction, the chat erupted again:

"It's over! I can already foresee the host's miserable situation."

"With how bad the host is, she's going to take hours!"

"This is going to be a show, prepare your sunflower seeds and drinks!"

However, it turned out that Sakura Fubuki's performance was indeed unsatisfactory.

In the battle against Tao Yao, her character was constantly trapped by various hard control skills, spending nearly half of the 30-second challenge time being passively beaten.

The chat suddenly exploded:

"I can't watch any longer! Roll! Host, where's your roll?!"

"That thick health bar, why don't you use it!!"

"Host, did you forget how to dodge?"

"This gameplay, even my grandma would want to hit someone!"

Due to the challenge time being too short, combined with Tao Yao's many hard control skills, the players did not notice a detail for a moment—although Sakura Fubuki's team took damage in battle, not a single character was defeated.

Most of the failures were simply because time ran out, requiring a restart.

Thus, what clearly was not a battle requiring much operation in the main storyline took Sakura Fubuki nearly half an hour to barely pass.

Even though they defeated Tao Yao in the game.

They triggered a plot death.

In the end, the main characters collapsed one by one, unable to break through Tao Yao's defenses.

Although they lost in the story.

Sakura Fubuki felt she had already achieved victory in spirit.

She raised her eyebrows again, triumphantly saying:

"I did it! Why are you all so anxious? Haven't I passed already?"

However, the chat responded with a string of:

"I'm full."

"This gameplay, I'm so full I could go three days without food."

"Host, are you here to play games or to cook for us?"

Ignoring these teasing comments in the chat, Sakura Fubuki continued to push the story forward.

The next plot developments came swiftly.

The Rift Gate was opened, and Laurel arrived late.

Then, in order to close the Rift Gate, Laurel walked in alone.

Leaving behind the bewildered and distressed Hiyakura and the others.

Soon, the game time transitioned to night.

Hiyakura conversed with her second personality and was tempted to accept the power of the Fire Fairy.

Before long.

An animated short titled "Crimson Monarch" began to play.

In the footage.

Hiyakura accepted the fairy power as described by her second personality.

Immediately, flames erupted around Hiyakura, and cracks appeared in her skin.

Finally, her figure underwent a transformation.

Turning into the Fire Fairy of the story.

Accompanied by a change in music.

The flames instantly engulfed the entire military camp, with soldiers in a panic everywhere.

The scene shifted.

Violet and Jasmine appeared on the screen.

Seeing Hiyakura's transformation, Violet crossed through the sea of fire, wanting to pull Hiyakura out.

But as a result.

She was injured by the out-of-control Hiyakura.

In the end, she fell to the ground, her body covered in burn marks.

Yet even so.

She continued to struggle to break free from Jasmine's hold, wanting to reach Hiyakura, who looked terrifyingly engulfed in flames.

And Hiyakura stood not far away.

Her eyes filled with fear and guilt.

Constantly questioning the other self in her mind.

"Come out now! This isn't what we agreed upon, hurry and come out!"

Hiyakura, who received no response, tried to help Violet but found she couldn't control the surging power within her.

Hiyakura painfully looked at her hands as flames uncontrollably surged from her fingertips.

Her tears rolled down like pearls but evaporated the moment they touched her skin.

Helplessly.

To avoid hurting anyone further, Hiyakura could only choose to walk toward the Rift Gate.

In the footage.

Hiyakura turned back for one last look at Violet lying on the ground, her eyes filled with reluctance and guilt.

She slowly walked into the Rift Gate, her figure gradually disappearing in the dazzling light.

At this moment.

Violet was still struggling to get up.

But no matter how she struggled.

She was powerless.

She could only watch as Hiyakura entered the dangerous Rift Gate.

The animated short ended.

The live stream fell into a brief silence once again.

Then, the chat surged like a tide:

"Oh no! My heart aches!"

"Damn second personality, why must you be like this!"

"Tao Yao is a liar! I suddenly understand why some people hate Tao Yao!"

"I don't understand, how could someone like Tao Yao, full of schemes and lies, still have fans? Are you all blind?"

For the players.

The main characters had accompanied them for a long time.

They almost occupied the entire game process.

In contrast, the plot content regarding Tao Yao was a mere trifle.

Because of this.

Players found it easier to empathize with Hiyakura and her companions.

As for Tao Yao?

She claims to support Hiyakura and wants to make this world better.

But what happened? She ended up on the opposite side of the main characters!

No matter how you look at it,

She seems like a hypocritical liar!
